Alright ive had my dvd burner on my laptop for a while now but havent used it more than like twice because everytime i try to burn a dvd it doesnt work. Whats the best way/best program to use??? Is it easier to rip it to your hardrive then burn it from there? some help would be much appreciated
dvd shrink is used more for compressing dvds. if you burn a dvd and it doest work (like, the log says "burn process failed" or something)...its probably because youre set for the wrong region. theres free programs such as DVD-CD firmware which detect/change the region of your burner/dvd.
or if the DVD you are burning (copying) is encrpyted. then you need some sort of decyrpter.
if youre not actually copying anything (putting home video onto a dvd) than see my above post
roxio toast is by far my favorite burning program. it automatically compresses the video files and still looks good. i think the best way to do it is to do a complete dvd rip using something similar to Mac the Ripper. it will rip everything, including subtitles, extras, etc.....then you can burn it with toast as a video_ts disc and it works just like a regular dvd.
i know on dvd shrink it takes 1 step, you select what you want on the dvd, ie extras subtitle or languages, then you click go and it automaticlay rips it to your comp in the best format and size possible then it rips it to a normal dvd.
thats exactly what Im trying to do..but thanks for all the replies guys, I recently just got the latest Nero (I think its ver. 7 enhanced) but do I also need a dvd shrink to get the job done? Is Nero considred a dvd Shrink? sorry im kinda new at this
