Pre-drilled holes?

thats kinda a good idea. easier mounting and ur can do it anywhere

probably not, bc you can mount skis traditonaly, modern, or center and the templates for different bindings are so varied...too many holes to have in a ski at once.

though it would make like easier

this is the first year in a while that they arent there.
and they cant becaise there are too many mount points and too many binding screw patterns.
If every binding was universal like in snowboarding they could (with the exception of burton boards)
too bad lines binding wasnt wel thought out enough, and too heavy.

If you can come up with a way to solve the problem of different screw patterns and differnt mounting points, then it would be a good idea.  Until then, you'll have to settle with dreaming of skis that are completely covered in inserts for 40cm or mount your skis yourself.  So it's a good idea in theory, but when you factor in a little reality it will never work.  If you want a prime example of reality working against ideas look no further than Line.

well then you would only be able to mount one type of binding. look, solamon, and marker all have different screws. and its not like it takes that long to drill a hole

it makes the ski weaker and you are forced to put them in a certain place

^i was told by the shop that it doesnt make it weaker because they fill it with epoxy and i have lots of holes in my skis

my old skis had pre drilled holes in dem. i had line mavericks

mount them yourself if you're having problems. It's really simple.

don't mount them yourself. well if you know what you're doing go for it, but the bits are somewhat specific and its kind of a big deal if you mess up.

Its far too expensive for every single binding company to change to accomodate this new Idea. I personally agree with it totally because i too have had problems with shop techs mounting my skis wrong. In order for it to catch on a mainstream company such as rossignol that makes every type of ski for every skier needs to make the switch. A low level company such as line could never start a wave big enough to change the whole industry. I understand that everyone here has heard of line but think about all the people that ski. We make up around 30 percent of the skiing community. It would not be hard to put a series of predrilled holes in a ski that would allow the rider 3 or 4 custom options like a snowboard but its going to take a revolutionay new binding design unlike the reactor which was a few steps from progressive. I owned a pair myself for one season, and they lacked alot but a company with more money to put into research and design could pull off a better binding. I give line all the props they deserve for their binding project and now that they have moved and been bought I will bet that within the next 5 years we will start to see more out of the reactor.

O by the way, for those that havnt ridden the reactor. They release so smooth that you cant even feel your ski come off, seriously.
