I just got back recently from Amsterdam and I absolutly loved it. I am moving there in 3 months to live there for good. THE SEX and Drug capital of the world or at least one of them!! Go into restaurants and get marijuana menus not just brownies anymore. Just about anything you can think of. pastas, pizza, cookies well you get the point! Also just full Bud shops, bong shops everything and I have never seen so much sex in my whole life!! Live sex shows everything you name it its there!! Also forgot too mention they also have a marijuana beer company marijuana in your beer. Such a wonderful city and country!! So depending on where you live in the U.S you can get a plane flight over there you can pull of $350 or no more than $430 with a travel agent to get there!! Its something ever american needs to experience!!

the hookers in amsterdam have to be registered and have cards that state what diseases they have. of course the more stds, the lower the price.

How about no. Europe is amazing, I love it more than any other place in the world. Italy especially. I have family in holland and although Ive never been, its more than just sex and drugs. Amsterdam has way more to do than just things that are illegal here, try a river cruise and look at the amazing architecture and culture. IF your moving there to blow all your money on hookers and weed, its not a very intelligent decision and you add on to the bad reputation Americans have.

No also the prostitutes are very limited on stds because the goverment test them before they stand naked in front of windows and are alowed to even be a prostitute!! So they can be one if they have stds but Im sure the goverment can't check all of them.

amsterdam is a flithy city... im pretty sure you can poop on the street... but yeah .. they know whats up with pot... but you might have to deal with som douchbag dutchman.. you just slap him and tell him to go build a dike or something.. europe is cool.. but everyone are assholes.... i just mean if you say hello good day to someone.. they give you a look like your talking to a group of asians.. you know.. like.. "what is this insubortanate fuck talking bout.''' dunno i was there and was at a bar.. and talking to some durch girl.. and this guy flipped the fuck out on me. just for being an american.. now im well cultered and i was not running down the streets of hollend withe the flag yelling.. Definitely man, I've been a few times and Amsterdam and Holland have lots more to them than just weed and hookers. If you go there and just get stoned all day you're missing out. As for Americans coming to Europe it's the ones that just get messed up all the time that give you a bad name, I've met a lot of cool Americans travelling and have no problem with them (if I did I probably wouldn't be moving to colorado next week!).

yea my older cousin (like 29 or 30) went there and said that aside from what most people think when they hear "amsterdam,"it was really great.  she didn't take many pictures but she said it was very beutiful and not what she expected at all. 

as much as i think it'd be awesome to have sex and marijuana all over, i could never imagine living like that for more than like a week.  i like the US pretty much how it is.

amsterdam is a beautiful city. yes theres some garbage and the canals are filthy but the place has so much style and culture. I love the dutch, they are super friendly and the girls a smokin hot. Your post makes me really think your not that intelligent of a person and you're the stereotypical americans europes knwo about. plus the "hi how are ya" greeting works well in english speaking nations, but when there is a language barrier things get complicated, hence their akward response.

yes amsterdam is cool for the weed and hookers but i dunno about all of you guys who are saying its a beautiful city. YES is has cool architecture, unlike anything you will see in north america, YES the canals are elaborate and there is some serious history there, but the city is in my opinion a shit hole.

Drug dealers all over the place, filthiest water ever, and it smells like shit. The drugs, prostitution and tourists destroy that city.

I encourage you to continue travelling through europe like places in switzerland, austria, slovenia and italy and you will see 'beautiful' cities.

im not sure where everyone is getting their opinions from but i just went to Amsterdam about two months ago for 2.5 weeks and i cant even begin to explain how much fun it was. yea they have alot of weed and head shops and the red light district but there is soo much more than that. the streets are all narrow and it makes you feel cozy and welcome, its usually clean except when the tourists come and completely litter all over and at night a street sweeper literally has to come 5 times to clean it up. there is soo much to see and do that really you would just be wasting your time smoking and doing drugs.......oh and the soccer stadium there is sooooo primee, GO AJAX

ONLY AMERICANS go to Amsterdam to do a bunch of prostitutes and smoke weed all day.

Other people go to amstderdam for the general Dutch experience along with the plethora or things to do: Anne Frank, Van Gogh, Rembrandt etc, and view the Herbs as just another thing to do, and view the Prostitutes as a solution to a social problem.

how many here actually spend time in vondellpark or by the university

want an awsome town? leiden is like 20 min away by train. its all one big university pretty much, has a headshop but it opens at 4, weed is easier and better if you buy it from someone there

or another 10 min from there is this rich ass beach resort town called noordwijk.

all i know is that amsterdam has realy hott flight attendants. i went with my family, so no drugs or sex for me. i bought a piece as a souvenir. but we pretty much saw every single historic artifact, monument.

oh and i gave my mom hash brownies and it was the funniest thing i have ever seen by far, and i told her what they were too.
