Yeah, i've thought about that quite a bit. It really bugs me, because it doesn't even mean homosexual anymore, it's just an insult. It happens alot at my school too, it's not even a good insult.

its funny the direction this thread went. half agree and half thought it was gay. i didnt even tell you what i thought about it, just that it was overused. of course im going to get a response like lateralis', but hey, maybe mi thread really does like men.

I've had this discussion before... people will make the claim that the word 'gay' used as an insult makes absolutely no reference to homosexuality... If there is no reference, then how is it an insult? I think that people who use the word 'gay' frequently as an insult (as so many NSers do) need to realize that a person's sexuality plays no role in their life other than in sex.

Actually homosexuality would play a role in life. First of all it cna be more uncomfortable around them because they could be attracted to you sexually and also because the brain and horomones are different and we all know how much in our lives is based on horomones.

Knowing how to spell correctly is also an important part of life.

The point I'm trying to make is regardless of whether someone is 'gay' or not, the term itself is not an insult, and shouldn't be treated as such.
