Help getting a girl to know i dont like her??

there is this girl that i know through skiing, and latley, she has been wicked clingy. She's fine to have as a friend, but she's in love with me (its obvious, and ive heard it from mulitple people). she wont stop bombarding me with texts (shes rasing my bill so much), phone calls, and IM's,and its starting to really piss me off. What can i do to shut her up (nicley), but still keep her as a friend.

she also asked me to this dance called a catillion (i think, im not sure because she lives in the town over, and our school doesnt have one). i said yes to be nice, but its just getting out of hand.

what can i do to let her know im not in love with her.

there is a simple and polite way of getting through this. the next couple of times she calls tell her you are busy and you gotta go, keep that up for a little while, never tell her you are bored, make her think you are constantly busy, then when you think shes gotten that into her head tell her that you are sorry you havent been able to talk lately but you are really busy these days and say that i hope we can hang out sometime because you are a good friend of mine and ive always thought of you that way, and slip in somewhere that you dont have the time to give the commitment you want to give to a girl so you deffinetly arent in the position now or in the foreseeable future to have a girlfriend. This way she is not offended, gets the message that you dont want to date, and you compliment her. so she may leave the conversation happy after all.

okay the people whove told you to tell her are the ones you should listen to, BUT i know from a few times being in your situation (im in it at the moment actually) its probably the hardest thing youll ever do, and if your like me, wont get round to doing it.
if you do the above post (which i basically did twice) itll get to the point (probably the dance thingy) where she gets frustrated and takes you to one side and says 'look i really like you more than a friend, what do you think of me?' where you'll have to tell her what you think, which will ruin her night (or you'll just lay it off saying i dont know what i think, i sorta like someone else etc.......and have to speak to her later on).
what you HAVE to do is not lay it off and next time you see her and she does something like get close to you, just say 'look, i feel like you want more than a freindship, and i hate to let you down, but... (in your own words).
youll want to lay it off but you have to just do it, fight your fears, after youll feel pretty shitty but later on youll know you did what you should have. do it before the dance, and she may still have a fun night.
first time i said that to a girl it was someone i did stuff with (in a small group) probably every other day, and i knew shed liked me for over a year (made it harder). i handled it pretty badly, but in the end did the above, and were still mates and do stuff together pretty regularly.
come to think of it ive been on the recieving end as well and trust me, it is the best (and only) way.

as much as cotillion might seem like a waste of time, it isnt. i really didnt want to go to it but my mom made me, i was in the national leguae of cotillions, like always dress nicely. they teacj u everything, i went for two years. its amazing to see how many people dont have a clue what they are doing when it comes to any kind of etiquette or manners at all. I am very confident in my manners around not only girls but anybody, and i think a lot of girls appreciate nice manners in a guy and it gives me confidence in what might be an uncomfortable situation for a lot of guys.
