Brakes need to be how much wider than ski width?

alright dudes, I already hooked myself up w/ some Salmon SPKs at 180cm which have a waist of 79mm. Salomon will hook me up w/ a wide selection of bindings, but I'm wondering to I need to go w/ the 80mm brake versions or the 85mm brake versions? I'm def going w/ the z10 ti series, though they may not be the quintessential freestyle break I'm getting them for NADA, so I just need to know if I need to give the greak a lil' room to breath, or go w/ the 80mm... gonna place the order here in a few mins.. so any help appreciated.. thanks...

yeah.. the only thing was I had to get my brakes bent to get around my foils last year.. and although it wasn't a big deal, would rather just get some that fit np... anybody else could point me in the dir. of an article on this? or straight up know how this works?

If I had to guess I'd say an 80 mm brake is designed to fit a ski with a waist of 80 mm or less... like so that isn't the literal widths of the brake... I actually have no idea though. I would say just be safe and go 85 but it'd be quite annoying if they caught on shit.

I ended up goig w/ the 85mm b/c the brakes that I wanted, the z12 ti, were pretty much starting at 85mm (from the list I had to choose from atleast... I figure the brakes will be set obviously half a foot back from waist which should give the ski a lil' extra width, and at most 2.5mm space on each side is nil' to none... thanks for the help, and any decisive facts on this question would be nice to.
