i was thinkin of just getting px12s and taking off the lifter but when i was in the shop today i saw the z10s and z12s and i really dont know much about them and the guy at the shop didnt help much so ill just ask all of you...how are they durability wise? i know they are mad light but they look kinda plasticy like theyd break easier but idk. anyone have anything good or bad to say about them?
there have been countless thread on the new z binding and all that i have learned from them is that the toepiece has automatically adjusting wings, they are really light and that next to none people have had any experience with this binding on ns
yeah, salomon has picked up thier act with the Z series...but for proven bindings, Looks, Rossignols, or some salomon S912 or S916 depending on ability and weight, and boot sole length.
i wear a size 31 foil, idk how to classify ability i guess btw advanced and expert (skiing for 14 years), and i weigh like 160-165. yea i tried searching for info on them but no where i look was helping not even the shop and especially not the website that things poop
z12s would probably be perfect. From everything I've heard they are as durable as the px-series and as a bonus are a pound lighter. They have fixed the problem with the play in the toe wings (very prevalent on old 810/912/914).
unless your getting the z10, its not worth the extra money to get the z12, so just get the z10 if u like it. otherwise (if u want a 12 DIN binding) go with the px12 or p12, u get the idea.
I don't like how the Z10s or Z12s use only 3 screws in the toepiece. The toepiece is their quadrax toepiece, which is nice because you don't have to adjust anything like Solly's s912s and similar bindings. But yah, 3 screws in the toepiece, that's really my only gripe about them so far.
This thread went up the day i bought my z10s...I went into the store looking to mount my 169 fujis with a scratch 120 binding...they were out and the sales guy just started talkin to me about the z10...said that the salomon dealer came in and started beating the shit out of it .....nothing would pop out....he almost had me convinced...then i picked the thing up....super light....i picked up the look scratch 120 equivlant...heavy as shit...not to mention i got it in all white with little bit of gold....looks pimp
