People are so unfriendly here some times. I got cussed out by a guy today in the park at stevens... presumably he was pissed cause I was hitting the second kicker and he wanted to board on the landing. I was coming up on it fast and saw him carve around and right in front of the other side of the lip so I yelled "clear!" to make sure he knew I was coming. He fliped out.
I really don't understand why we can't all just get along and like, ski/board together. Thats one thing I love about skiing in places like whistler.
Also, do you guys ever run into people who get pissed off if you pull a trick that is better then theirs? And then they like, wont talk to you. Or is everyone just stuck up? I don't get it. And if you are reading this, and you are one of these people: Grow up for christs sake. And have some fun. jeez.

But its true, people are in general really bad in the park. I dont understand why some people cannot seem to grasp the concept of GETTING OUT OF THE WAY. I've almost landed on a few kids just hanging out on the landing for no apparent reason.

Yeah I know. I mean it's not so much the kids sitting under the jumps. It's the 25 year old guy who just wants to be a jerk. And its just the stuck up atmosphere that people create.
We can still have fun, I agree, like in the bc with our own kickers. But like, alot of places, the park is kind of a place where everyone is family, borders and skiers alike, ya know?

just watch out for the gapers. they have attitude because they gape so hard. i never yell, but fuck i ran into (almost literally) some of washington's brightest last winter and let them hear it (and they sure as hell let me hear it back, but they were stupid, so... yea...). Most of them don't know whats going on. Most of them don't care to know, because they are so cool. And living so close to a large urban area just means that there are people that are doing it because their friends are doing it, so obviously they're the shit. Just watch out for them. You can't communicate to them, or make reason with most of them. We can't really have gaper genocide so I couldn't really provide much of a suggestion. Best to have a spotter or be extra cautious; if you see somebody going down that just doesnt quite have the appearance of somebody that knows whats up, just be patient. The ones that can ride arent of concern.

it was probably some snowboarder who gets in 5 days a year and still thinks like it's 1998 and snowboarding is way cooler. just switch carve around the punk and act like you don't even notice him. and most of the people are pretty talkative. you just unlucky. and whistler is way worse unless you're in the HL park, tons of gapers get in the way there.

yeah I was talking the HL park at whistler. I guess it is the normal gaper issue...
But like, in tamarack (idaho) like we do 20 person train hits and all ski/board together n stuff, its sick. Maybe I'm spoiled.

and of course he is referring to the 40ft jump he was trying to hit on his 2nd shitty day up. or the blind landing he was sitting in.
then you respond again
"find a smaller jump, or leave, because you can get hurt or somebody else can get hurt"
then they respond
"fuck you, youre just a fucking skier"
or
"youll be the one getting hurt bitch"
and if you continue, this pattern will only continue.
then you really come to realize that they are not able to be rational

I ski stevens all the time. I cant throw any sick tricks yet but at least I can hit the jumps and land them. Plus i dont sit on landings and hangout...

Yeah, you should have been skiing with us last season. Honestly i've never seen Grant yell like that before at anything or anyone. I was starting to get really nervous b/c a couple of the guys he yelled at looked like they were gonna take their boards of and decapitate him.
Anyway, I never thought i'd see the day when Grant full on yelled at people, but I guess the rage comes out when Gapers are all gaped out sitting in the landings and such.

the worst ones, are the 8-10 year old kids that hit the big jumps with no speed and get stuck right in the middle of the jump. the park cru should just be clippin tickets all day for thet kind of stuff

well its like, when parents take their 8 year olds into the park they might read the sign or whatever.. but its all like, "don't do flips don't swear at people" type bullshit. there should be like, a big diagram of where to stop and where not to stop in relation to a rail or jump. So then all the people riding the park get a bit of a negative rep going cuz some guy yelled at their son cuz he was blatantly where he should not have been.

had to yell at one on friday. wasnt even affecting me really, except that it could in the future. Others yelled at him first because he was an idiot, then he made some smart ass/idiotic remark, so I yelled, too. Some of those people need to be sliced with a shiny bronze sword

i think it all depends on when u go.i only have problems on days like bring-a-can-of-food-for-charity-and-ski-free-days when all the poor gapers come out of their white-ass gaper houses.and when the snow is bad.but otherwise,i thought the people here are nice,compared to montreal.those people would fricken kill you if u like cut them off accidentally.
