she came in peace and sleep to speak relief
beliefs were wreathed in violet streaks of broken speech
spoke to teach, florescent reach to break a beat
across the break of dawn and paint a sheet of orange leaves
with heaps of bars piled steep like harvest sheafs
bleak darkest deeps beneath our feet sprung gardens sweet in ardent fleets
fleeting flight flurries of hurried worries retreat from hardened streets
hardly discreet with stars as seats and martyred leaps
disheartened leaf still floats by rocking boats with hard-earned leaks
re-wrote the hope in widened scope before the creaking hull was breeched
high tides hide the beach the seagulls screech and rolling swells repeat
but soon it's low, the churning foam and surging waves slow to a seap
a humming breeze tears free the paper chains of fading green
belated dreams overcast in clouded scenes by means of serenading screams
but sun beams are seams, sewing clouds of cream and blue to make a new day
gleam in trickling streams redeemed by rustling trees....

while we stand here the world just passes by in huddled miles
traced the grace in puddles of blue splashed on rude back round hues
drab space contrasts with you, if asked the truth there no moment i'd rather choose
this look back passed through, eclipsed by a slender shoulder
stopped in my path where the few moments that i lent her blew over
grew colder in some lost wind full of caution that somebody was tossin'
memory repeats of suddle cheeks and streaks of gold have caused grins
thin silence, vibrant light that makes my wide eyes squint
i spent only moment trying to memorize tints and shades, these shadows hide hints
of beauty, threw me behind my eyelids in moments of serene
a scene seen in true blue through two blue windows stolen from dreams

^sick stuff man.  i've been lacking for while because of college stuff, but i just got an acoustic guitar from a friend so i might try putting more stuff together

it seems kinda like you're just using random words that rhyme just because they rhyme. you know? like theres no real purpose for them

now, i wrote this last year, i wrote it after i bought ski porn, i didnt like the movie much, but it gave me the inspiration i needed

Bud is passed around on every street corner
To the natives and the locals and even to the foreigners
Suicide is highest which is why we got the mourners
But to keep it lighthearted we also got the lawyers

It’s a well balanced mix of dope fiends and wealthy men
From Rainier Ave to Madison straight back to your hood again

We even got the Blue Scholars, my biggest inspiration
They gave me my ideas to this Northwest creation.
So hop off the bus and head to the next station
It’s a half mile walk through the daily duration
of Seattle lifestyle in 206 time

being swept off the streets to open it up, the Emerald City really knows what’s up
So when you finish up your Starbucks go and get another cup

It grew into a poem from the ballpoint pen’s rattle
And I don’t do this normally but I got to tattle

^ nice way to bring it back.  after getting applications done and stuff i had to start doing scholarship stuff and the schoolwork never seems to stop, so i haven't had much time.  but there's this kind of talent show thing going down at our school and i heard the song "hallelujah" covered by Big Chicken Dinner on www.thesixtyone.com  and i realized i could easily do a little remix of the song.

so in about 2 days i wrote a few verses that go through a quick timeline through school or w/e.  i could've made it a lot longer going through each year of school and hat not, but i didn't want to be on stage for like an hour.

so anyway, i'm gonna try to video me singing and my friend playing guitar so you can hear what it should sound like, but for now you can listen to the song "Hallelujah" from the site i posted up there^  and just get the main idea down.

I’ve been in this school for oh so long,

and for background info, i went to a catholic elementary school (St. Rose) where we wore uniforms and occasionally sang hallelujah in chuch, and now i go to public high school (MHS) and seriously still only hang out with 2 kids outside of school. 

o yea and the last verse where "i'm stopping the music and i'm on the floor," my friend is gonna stop playing guitar and i jump down to the gym floor.

then when it says "it's your turn to sing the hallelujah," hopefully everyone at the even will come together and sing hallalujah 4x while i just walk out.

here's a little something i wrote during a class period in a kid's yearbook during the last week of school.  he showed some people and eventually it got around to one of my teachers who then let me say it over the PA system inbetween periods on the last day

I write rhymes on this page coming straight from the heart,

Too many great times, who knows where to start.

Let's not think about the past cause we got the future ahead,

And when we graduate always remember what I said:

High School’s not forever but I wish it could be,

Cause the best years of my life are all behind me.

All the friends you make and stories you share, don't let them slip away,

You can live for the moment but remember each day.

But I’m excited for college and the surprises that await,

Cause the future is an amusement park and I’m standing at the gate.

We don’t know what will happen or where our lives will go,

And if you haven’t learned at all here’s one thing you should know:

High schools not forever and I don’t need it to be,

Cause the best years of my life are still ahead of me.

And I look forward to college as it's coming undelayed,

For the last 4 years of my life there is nothing I would trade

We worked so hard, laughed so much; school wasn’t much a chore,

So raise a glass, lets have a toast- here’s to many more.

so it's been a long time but i felt like i should bring this back, it's been over 2 years since i created it and there's some good stuff.  i've written a lot over the past few months especially with college and stuff, but only have a few things saved on my computer.

here's something i wrote only a few days after starting classes and i just wanted to try a different rhyme scheme:

nothing says home like the back of my dome laying on my own bed,
or the magazine stack in the newspaper rack with the comics i have not read.
oreos in their place in the rubbermaid case wait for me each night,
cause there comes a time when i like to dine or maybe get a quick bite.
the comics unfold as a story is told and i always switch on the tv,
i sit in the dark as my mother remarks there's no way i can possibly see.
i reminisce about all that i miss like the places where i would eat,
without ralphs for a drink i'd always think no day was truely complete.
missing the beach my past out of reach i realize i have to move on,
but it doesn't seem fair i have no clue where high school really has gone.
i guess i'll mature but im not really sure what will come out of these years,
there's much i don't know and it seems as if though what i learn always dissapears.
at the end of this road and written in code i can see the future for me,
but right now all i care is about being there- home's where i wanna be.

here's another college related and explains my obsession with oreos:

well i've counted the oreo wrappers and it matches the days i've been gone,
which proves i need them in my life for me to carry on.
cause i'm over 300 miles away but they make me feel like home,
and they're waiting for me in my dorm so i know i'm never alone.
it's not the same without milk and comics but that doesn't stop me from my crusade,
i'll make due with a computer screen and assorted flavors of kool-aid.
with every bite i take and after every sip of my drink,
i wonder if in my chain of life, are they the missing link.
it used to be the double stuff but i got the regular in bulk supply,
many don't understand how i feel so they just wonder why.
soon i know i'll be running out, but will i have money to buy more,
looking for change anywhere i'm scouring the desk and drawers.
and if that day should ever come, when i'm left without my friend,
im packing up and heading home cause thats when college will end.

and here's another one i wrote after getting sick of hearing my roomate talk on the phone in the room when im trying to take a nap or do work:

if i suffocate myself i'll never have to hear his voice,
should i stay or switch my room i wouldn't have to make the choice.
school won't be a problem i'll never have to do more math,
throw a toaster in the water and i'll take my final bath.
i know that it's that easy but i don't want my life to end,
i'm happiest when im not in school so i observe the trend.
do what makes me happy that's all i ever think about,
and when will the day come when class is finally let out.
but if i were to die tomorrow there is one thing that i wish,
learn from what i had hoped to do, my advice was always this:
do what makes you come alive cause that's what the world needs,
the future is a garden and our dreams they are the seeds.
right now they're covered with soil but soon they'll live and grow,
so prepare for the future but live for today the present is wrapped up with a bow.

and here's a little exerpt from a text message "battle" me and a friend had:

you got a heavy week yo i got a heavy load,
each day i walk in silence is a story left untold.
so i try to express what i feel each and every day,
cause rhymes are chapters in my book and books are written that way.
but sometimes shit just gets too rough too hard to say what's inside,
so instead i scurry into my bed and under sheets i hide.
cause i thought sheets would keep me warm in a world that's o so cold,
but the shivers still come in the dead of night no matter how tight you hold.

and finally the beginning to the most recent thing i wrote (last night) about how i can get dismissed from college.  hopefully the story can change and i'll turn the poem around, but here is for now:

how quickly everything has changed, too fast to take control,
tumbling, falling, crashing down, tearing apart my soul.
distant goals have dissapeared, do i have a future left?
to take away my dreams is, above all, the greatest theft.
i've heard of hope and persevearance but they're so hard to find,
stuck here in the dark with my best years all left behind.
and i know how they all feel cause it's just the same for me,
my life has truly been destroyed, im standing in the debris.
