I finally decided on a new ski for this season and i'm going with the 185 Volkl Karma (thanks for the great help in the other thread guys!!)
Just to recap
- 6"3'
- 190
- 40% groomed, 40% non groomed (not deep powder), 20% park
- Above average ski level
-boot size is 13.5
-Ski in California mostly (Northstar, Alpine, Heavenly, etc..)
I've been reading some threads and talking to a few people and they mainly suggest the following bindings for me
rossi scratch 140 ti, look px14 or salomon s916
Anyone else have any good input on bindings for this ski and my type of skiing?

you have a biigg nigger boot
I wouldn't even consider the 916s because they only go down to 9 and with your fucking large boot you might not want the din to be that high.
I would highly consider tyrolia mojo 15s if i were you

hhaha yea my feet are pretty big ;) I read that I should get a larger din binding because of my height/weight, someone mentioned at least a binding with a 14 din.

What si wrong with big feet an 916? It's a great binding! Probably the best I've ever used. But the P14, why? Go up to P18 or FKS 155, 180 and you'll have a binding completely out of metal that olways work. Bindings up to 14 are shitty.

scratch 140's or px 14s are both great choices, the rossi fks and lok p18 wont fit over the waist of the karma unless you bend the brakes. you wont need a din higher than 14

They have a freeride model this year so the fks will fit on large waist skis. If you got the cash, go fks.

yea the FKS looks like a great binding. So the FKS 185 binding is what you guys would all recommend for the Karma?
Also do I need to specify I need the freeride version for the Karma or are they all the same size?

um not to question your skiing ability becuase you might, but do you really need a 185?? in most cases a fks 155 would cut the mustard, and I reckon with your humungo feet you dont need quite was high a din as most people your size... just a thought, you're the judge though what din do you like to ride at?

I think the FKS 155 is ebough, I dont think they do the FKS with WB, you have to bend the brakes yourself, its really simple though.
You need a sawn of pole, put the brake inside of the pole, bend the brake out straight and then down so it fits your ski.
Theres a thousands ways of doing this but I find this one the easiest and quickest.

The difference between Look and FKS is almost nothing. But the fks is more metal in and comes with greater range on the DIN scale. It can be so that the FKS 155 is lighter than the P18

The bigger the boot, the lower the DIN. Someone who is 190lbs but also has a 13.5 boot (which is what, like 355mm-360mm sole length?) would likely ride their DIN around the same as someone who is 165lbs and is in a 28-28.5 boot (around 325mm).
So I will echo what was said above, you probably should not go for the 916 as you will likely be riding a DIN lower than 9. Unless you are doing shit loads of big mountain charging.
My suggestion would be an FKS155. 5-15 DIN range, which would be perfect for you, metal construction so your weight shouldn't destroy them, and the thin-ish brakes will be able to be bent to fit over an 87mm waist.
Mojo 15 would be my 2nd choice, but it does use more plastic than the FKS. I would avoid a binding with a DIN starting at 8 or 9 (FKS185/P18 or 916) and would try to avoid bindings with lots of plastic (912ti, px series).
