Camera Quality

I want to get a new video camera, and im tight on cash. I want something with good quality, obviously, but what should i get? what exactly is 3CCD? I kno that high five was shot entirely in digital with VX2100's, which are 3ccd. So what exactly shoould i look for for that quality?
