Replying to Boot improvement idea

A while back there was a picture passed around here of some SPK boots with brown, leather covers on them. Some people mentioned it would be sweet if someone made ski boots that looked more like snowboard boots (leather, dark colors, etc.). If no boot company is on board with this idea, I think I'd like to make covers like the one in the picture of my own. Does anyone have a pattern or diagram for this kind of boot-cover? Anyone interested in making one?
