so it's offical, here is a real review on the scott p4.
looks:
the best graphic anywhere, 80's steeze is in, and if you buy fashion over function this is it.
Function:
okay enough with the joking, I got the p4's in a 181, wich have a 108 waist. it says 108 on the ski, so this is correct. I'm 5 10, 155 lbs. I mounted the skis just over 2 cm forward from recommended, with fischer x 17 bindings. Now for the skiing. The p4's were a medium stiff, but flexed in all the right places, for powder skis, they seemed about perfect in the shop. I noticed that the flex of the skis helped turn theses beasts right away, because any stiffer, and the groomers I was on would have probably killed me my first few runs. Theses skis are zero fun for tight turns, going really slow. If you only ski the perfect turn, turn after turn or race slalom don't get theses skis. If you ski like a man, like to go fast and make wide arcs, these skis are for you. I only began to appreciate the true potential of the skis when I started going mach 1. The tanks I was riding all the sudden changed into the most stable, fast, and sweet turning skis I had been on. I hate skiing slow, and I had to go a lot faster than normal to start to feel speed. The skis held edges amazingly over Ice, and when I found every patch of crud I could, i didn't feel it at all. It was nuts. By the end of an hour I was used to them, and was completely in love, the went fast, turned well, and my mule kicks looked amazing. I didn't get any real powder on them, so that'll follow up later. The only gripes I heard was jibmaster_j said they were heavy, and his legs hurt on the chair ride, but he's a pussy, and is used to fujatives. He actually skis much better than I though so I can't talk too much shit. So all in all, if you like to go fast, and charge hard with reckless abandon, these are the right skis, if you like tight turns on groomers at below 20 mph, try a different ski.
