I am getting new boots this year, i am looking for a freestyle boot because thats what i primarily ride, i was looking at the salomon foil and the SPK they are both freestyle boots but the SPK is way more expensive, is it worth the extra money? is there a huge diffrence between the 2?
Get the foil. The SPK is a sweet boot but it really lacks the capability to perform decently out of the park. The foil will ride park very well, but is also versitile enough to go elsewhere.
People say that spks are very park specific and if so than they'll be great if you're a park rat. If you don't ski more than 80% park than get the foil
if ou buy sk, you'll have to buy a good solid sole (surefeet style) cause they dont have any footbed under the liner.
foils on the other hand are dope but dont have as much absortion.
im doing the same thing but have made my choice (decided to get the SPK). there are tons of threads exactly like this one so use those they have lots of good info. basically do what they said above if you ski 80% park or more get them. and how much are they where you live cause its not that big of a difference here (NH)
