I want to build a ramp in my back yard about 8' tall and it will have a smooth surface to get speed down it for my 13' rail that will be right after it. What kind of surface will slide the best? Ive heard about soapy carpet but is there any other permanet surface I can use?

I also want to make something like this, but off of my patio, for the winter. I don't have a slope in my backyard...

i have a nice size hill in my backyard. there's also an ice factory 20 minutes away from me that creates a hell of a lot of excess snow. i think this summer i'll just fly down there in my dad's truck, just fill it completely, and hope that i can make it back. maybe i'll cover it and throw some ice in there...
