yes. my computer would take a ps3 over the table in all aspects. thats because i built it myself. granted i paied more, but i can do a whole hell of a lot more with it.

many ppl its a convience factor. a lot easier to go to bestbuy and say i want a awesome comp, than pick out the drives, ram, card ect and then assemble them all yourself.

actuly, my pc is faster. i have a 3.2 ghz pentium d extreeme edition. that means up to 4 logical processors for a total processing rate of 12.8 ghz. i would LOVE to see a ps3 do the things my computer can do. and bouth of my disk drives can read blue ray disks. i also have 600 gigs of hard drive space on 10000 rpm s-ata drives. so not only can my computer run faster, it can also load things faster and hold a lot more. i also have a better graphics card to. not that that matters though.

yes you can....you can hook it up to the net.
They have an internet browser. Anything with Wifi can rock the net. I posted with my PSP the other day.

1. you pentium EXTREEEEEMEEEE with "4 logical processors" doesnt match a 12.48ghz, you dont just multiply your processor speed by 4, you are retarded.

2. the way the new cell chip in the ps3 streamlines data to the 7 seperate "logical processors" specifically for the purpose of playing the games that are made for it absolutely DOMINATES YOUR PC.

end of story. nerd.

haha, you obviously know nothing about computers. the thing about the extreme edition is this. it is a dual core processor that runs at 3.2 ghz, so a total real processing speed of 6.4 ghz. next we go and enable a little something called hyperthreading. what does that make the computer do boys and girls? it makes it see 4 processors instead of 2. well at least programs do. such as photoshop cs2. the computer knows there is only on dual core processor. the program does not. learn ship about computers before you tart talking out your ass to someone who is cisco level 2 and a+ certified. and woo hoo for 7 processors. do you realize that in the average basic computer there are at least 12 break off processors from the main one?

your still wrong, having a dual core doesnt make your processing speed double. its basically having two processors, and all the processors are split 50/50 between the two processors that work at 3.2 GHz. hyperthreading is similar but it splits the processes within a processor, so its not like what you think it is. by the way, when it comes to gaming intel processors suck, amd is the way to go. and could you please show me your blu-ray disk drive that you bought? because i havent seen one yet. and by the way, all of that definately cost you at least double the money for a ps3.

when it comes to PC vs PS3, if you want hi-def gaming at a cheaper and anti-pirating price get xbox 360. but if you want good shooters, real-time strategies, at a more costly price get a PC. the one advantage with PC is that theres a little thing called pirating, where you can get all the games you want, for free.

you obviously smoke pole because you love amd. who gives a shit about the athlon 64 processor. its nothing special at all. and you know reading the box on a processor doesent mean shit. i though the same thing at first, but watch your processor speed when you load a big program like cs2. i have never seen mine at 12 ghz, dont get me wrong, but i have seen it at 9.5-10.
