so i hiked stevens today (thursday) and they have quite the park, when i left they were still setting things up. Basically the park goes like this from top to bottom, you start of with a flat box, then go down to a flat-down box, then theres a street-style flat rail, followed by the pryamid box, on the right of the pryamid you can hit a up-flat rail (barley and up though, mostly just flat), then you go down, and they DO have the waterfall setup (the jumps about 5-10 ft tall, prrty popy, and its about a 20-35 ft gap, pretty fun jump), then you go down and they have the c-box, followed by the rainbow box, then they have the 2 flat boxes setup into a a-frame box (same setup and location as last year), then the park ends with the s-rail (same location as last year). hope this made sense, and have fun in the park, see ya Saterday.

I fucking hate the top park, they always set the jumps so that if you fuck up even just a little bit on the top one and lose a fraction of your speed, you undershoot the second one in the line and fucking die.

I love night skiing. There's a small kicker next to the bottom of the Tye lift on your right if you're coming down the chairline. Had a good landing tonight, all the lifties down there were shaping it up for people and tossing fresh snow to fill in the landing. You gotta love night skiing, everyone just gets friendly when there arent any lines.

It just makes me so happy, I dunno why.
Oh, and best thing ever tonight. My friend and I want to do a last run on Big Chief, so we get to the bottom and wait at the line for a chair to come around. The liftie down there by himself goes "hey, wait, I'll wipe one off for you guys!" and goes and brushes one off. He kinda hits the chair tho, and it swings as it hits the bullwheel. Then theres an awful *CLANG* and the lift just JERKS to a stop. The look on the guys face was priceless, it was totally his fault. So he goes and calls the top while we're still standing there. "Uh, yeah, it just stopped, I dont know why! No, I wasnt near it, I was shoveling snow! Derailed? Should I call base?..." So yeah, turns out he derailed the lift just by touching it. Big Chief is going to kill someone soon, I dont trust that thing at all.

his editing isn't that special. he basically does the same type of thing as robot food. and he really hates on anyone else, especially think thank. he is a good filmer though.

yea, but I dont have my ego stuck up my ass as far as he does, there is a much smaller difference between where my ego and my film skills are then for him.

um i doubt stevens will have real electricity for quite some time. Many sections of the power lines along hwy 2 are fucked up. I dont even know how long they can last using generators, but I wont try to speculate.
As for the park, its not nearly as great as it was last weekend (which isnt surprising). They need to do more work with the jumps. All the new snow flattened everything out. So if they can do some work tonight to get the jumps bigger and the landings steeper, tomorrow (the 17th) should be a good day. If not, the jumps are hard to clear with flat landings and little airtime. as for rails, not bad. just some weird up flat rail up top, trap box, then weird small butter pad thing to box, dfd rail, and some other shit.
plenty of snow to work with, however. shit better get good.

Dude, Stevens Park Crew will do the same thing this year as they did last year when they got a huge amount of snow; Absolutely Nothing. This snow layer is going to be great in out of bounds though (as soon as it sets up and avalanche danger lessens...), anyone want to make a few booters some weekend around those cliffs near the power lines?

shijt will be good on tuesday(19th) thru rest of the week then?

well I dont even know if tye will be open to get to gemeni pass and electric wu. They wont run it untill regular power is back (i think) and that could be a while (as mentioned).
so if the park crew and groomers do get some determination (which has been rather decent this year, unlike last season) then it could be good this week. Cant complain about the lack of snow anymore. there is plenty!

Ehh... kinda shitty day for pow skis. Its really really cold up there, and turning to ice. With no snow in the next week, I might not be missing much by going to Cali for Christmas.
Who were the two kids that dropped Tye today? Consider yourselves lucky to walk away from that thing, I've seen people land that sketchy cliff on deeper snow days and still end up with a broken leg.

I have heard of kids doing less scketchy cliffs on better days and breaking a leg.

People dropped that today? I thought I saw tracks but I figured they were from yesterday. I hit it twice yesterday. I couldnt imagine doing it today on that crusty shit.

Right now, its not worth it in my opinion. Snow is a little cruddy, kinda thick, and there are tons of slides all over the ridge from the past few days. Definently do something with a clean escape route.
All times are Eastern (-5)
