STEVENS UPDATE (ignore the other one)

so i hiked stevens today (thursday) and they have quite the park, when i left they were still setting things up. Basically the park goes like this from top to bottom, you start of with a flat box, then go down to a flat-down box, then theres a street-style flat rail, followed by the pryamid box, on the right of the pryamid you can hit a up-flat rail (barley and up though, mostly just flat), then you go down, and they DO have the waterfall setup (the jumps about 5-10 ft tall, prrty popy, and its about a 20-35 ft gap, pretty fun jump), then you go down and they have the c-box, followed by the rainbow box, then they have the 2 flat boxes setup into a a-frame box (same setup and location as last year), then the park ends with the s-rail (same location as last year). hope this made sense, and have fun in the park, see ya Saterday.

Ahahahaha, I almost might go up there just to see this tomfoolery. But no, I'll wait till we have more snow, and when it wont be raining.

Ya the landing on the waterfall looks so shitty, I didn't hit it but once we see more snow I'll be on it like a hobo on a ham sandwhich.

I didnt go in the park at all today, but from the chair, the waterfall looks larger, and they've made the third kicker in the pro line (only about 15-20 feet). Also, only Hogsback and Skyline were running today (and Daisy, that chair accesses some GREAT pow!). I talked to a guy who said Tye should be open Friday, and that something happened to the Big Chief lift when they were doing a trial run earlier this week. They're looking for a new part for it or something, but that lift is so old that they'll probably have to make it themselves if that dudes story is true.
Conditions are nice, 6" + fresh with that early season ice layer under it. Some exposure, and lots of unmarked lips and ditches in all the runs, so watch out, I ate shit screaming down Daisy on one...

i think i seen you, it was at the waterfall, which was crappy as expected, i buttered it to 180 th backside of the jump. black denim suit (not theat you could tell as it was pretty white with all the snow stuck to it) and a white 9mx with brown and orange soldiers. rocking the best pow ski of all time, center mounted fujis, one being reverse camber. but yeah, hella fun day, hitting tye rock in november, fun cliffs, finding holes in the snow to take the ski off my foot, good times. i wish i could make it tomarrow, but i got to visit people on my last day in state this go around.

What a great day, 50' off tye (fuck you Grant, you managed to put a bombhole in the exact spot I was planning to hit Tye Rock in the time I saw it riding up the chair to when I got there... grrr, next year I'll beat you to it...). Numerous cliffs and smaller stuff made the day excellent, and I only hit that ice layer once on landing (and it hurt...). I think the season is off to an incredible start...

tye's like 35 max off the point, no was you go 50 out of that even if you went off it at mach speed cause of the flat landing.

Not the rock itself, its to the skiers left in an area hemmed in by trees. You have to go by the ammo shack to get there, requires a little hiking.

I was playing with that rock early in the morning, no way in hell i was giving up the landing. It was nice too :)

Stevens has been pretty damn sick the past few days. Tomorrow should be another epic day. I wanted to hit Tye Rock but the run up to it was hella rocky and decided id wait for better coverage.

My bro and friends are slow as hell getting ready in the mornings and plus traffic was a bitch this morning getting up there.

i don't think that there's a 50 footer in those either, mostly because the trees make it too hard to get the speed to turn those into 50s.

Yeah, you start in trees around this one, but the 'terrace' is somehow barren of trees for about 100 feet, gives you a good landing most of the time. I found that spot late last winter, and it wasnt nearly as nice as it was Friday. Landing gets a lot flatter mid-season.
So I pulled out some skins and trekkers today from my house... anyone feeling like a hike up to the top of Tye Peak sometime?

the waterfall is the first jumpin the big line, if I am not mistaken it used to be in a bump line called water fall.

its the name of the first jump in the pro jump line. (right side of the park)

they now have a third jump in the top line. its the biggest of the 3, but weird. You feel like youre mobbing into it (because it has a very breif tranny) and so its hard to gauge speed. But whatever. Waterfall landing is steepend, but thus the jump feels rather small at this point.
several of the boxes have been removed, probably for the little rail thingy on saturday
