Snowbird Park

I think that snowbird has ALOT of potential to have a great terrain park, but they screw it up every year, there has to be a better location than baby thunder, a little steeper (not too much), and alot wider run. I don't know, i just get sick of how they often take the lips off of their tables and how they have no decent sized tables (in comparison to PC or Mammoth or Whistler)

i'm not trying to rip to badly on snowbirds park crew or anything, but where could be a better location to allow more diversity?

Wilbere ridge could be good, but it is kinda skinny. it could be wilbere ridge with the miners road. Maybe somewhere on Chips? Or just give up on the whole Big emma thing and turn the whole lower gad valley into a terrain park....I guess maybe we should just leave well-enough alone.

dude, it's because you are talking about the park at Snowbird. Of the entire, massive mountain that is Snowbird, you are criticizing the lowest elevation, wettest area, with the slowest lift. There was a reason the park was put there...it's not a big priority at the bird. They know PC has that shit covered, and that people aren't going to the bird to ride the park. Why they won't change the location? My guess would be that the parents who take their kiddies on their 2 weeks of skiing per winter to the bird and stay at the penthouses in the Cliff would rather leave those areas open as intermediate groomers. And apparently those $$$'s speak louder than jibbas. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for a well designed and maintained park...but if it's at the cost of a 3 hours delay in opening Baldy/MB/Tigertail/etc because the funds went from snow safety to sculpting jumps, then I'd say the have their priorities in order.

I totally agree with that statement, the only thing that I am saying is that Snowbird has alot more potential. If it is a Powder day, or if it has even snowed within the vecinity of a week, there is no way that I am going to go to the park, but if we look at some big resorts, with some really good big mountain riding (Mammoth, Whistler, Squaw) Those all have decent or really good parks and decent and really good powder. I would never want a terrain park to ever take priority over any decent powder day at Snowbird, but I think that they have alot better potential for a sick resort with sick pow sick terrain and a sick terrain park.

snowbird needs to set up some little rails or something right about now, the minute amount of soft snow they had is now gone after opening day

yeah, snowbird had just as much time as alta to open, yet alta happened to have all but one lift open, If snowbird wasn't comforatable opening more lifts they should have had enough time to set up a few rails

i think if snowbird pursued thier park program they could be one of the best resorts in the world. i think mammoth is a prime example of good terrain backed by a good park. if all those crusty skiers got thier heads out of their asses they would realize that if they had a better park there would be more snow for them elsewhere to laugh and play in
