look on kaza for adobe premier. it is pretty good. The thing i found is you gotta get a book to help you out. There is a lot more to it. If you wanna just put some shit together, doesnt have to be all fancy, then just grab like, media studio pro or some basic beginner setup from best buy or some shit.
final cut i hear is the best, but it is only for mac.

I use Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker 2 - it's nothing compared to Premiere or Final Cut of course, but it does everything I need to do and is very easy to use - download it from microsoft's site.

Ok, first i have an adamant dislike of macs, so fuck imovie.
Second, XP's movie maker blows. You cant record a soundtrack, edit or add fades, cut clips and resort them, or even change any settings on videos, like contrast and all. screw it.
I think im going for the Adobe one, thanks.

Movie Maker 2 has a lot more options for transitions and effects - check it out.

Dude if you want to do good video editting you need to get a Mac. Their software like Final Cut is 10 times better than Premier. I have used both and I hate using Premier after using FCP.

yea, macs are good for anything media, like video and photo, even audio. PC is just 1000 times better for everything else.

i think it is good to get premire, for free, and then get a book. Get it now and grow into it because you will want it later, it is by far the best. I started editing with it and i had never done it before, but i got it down good w/ the help of a book

First of all, Macs are soooo much better than the ones you've probably used in school and hate with a passion...it's understandable, I used to be the same way. If you don't buy a Mac, skip to the last sentence of this post or skip it altogether.
People probably thought you had a Mac because you mentioned Final Cut Pro, which is not made for Windows. If you do decide to go Mac, the perfect intermediate program would be Final Cut Express, it's 1/3 the price of Final Cut Pro, and unless you are using film in your movie as well as digital, you probably won't miss many features.
I don't know what to tell you about Windows programs though, sorry man.

there's a reason why hollywood uses macs for editing. same goes for graphic design too. you pc owners are never gonna get it, mac is too innovative, when pc's copy and saturate the market with their shitty versions of macs ideas, mac simply reinvents themselves. its all about fcp.

If your just starting get Final Cut Express, you dont need Final Cut Pro unless your shooting 16 or if you have a ton of money you can just get it anyway. FCX is really powerful though, good program with the same interface as FCP, so when you want to upgrade you are already use to the program.
