it's super sick dude. i didn't have a clue how to use it for a while there but then i looked at the dvd and manual and i got it going. i made a socceer highlight vid (30 minutes long) and some projects for school. it's awesome i would recommend it for sure.

You have a lot more control over the features. I do agree, FCP express is a good package. However, If you want to be taken seriously get FCP pro.

And if you really want to get taken seriously get Final Cut Studio 5.1! It basically just one-ups FCP the same as FCP one-ups Express. But ya i agree express is a great way to start and it's still miles ahead of things like windows movie maker and whatnot.

i guess i'm kinda confused.

specifically, what do pro and studio offer above express? and is it possible for me in the future to upgrade to pro or studio without having to buy a brand new program?

Pro gives the ability to control the filters and various exporting settings. I really don't know tho and I have been using the software for about 2 years now.

yes it is possible to upgrade. you do so on the apple site. go to store, and search final cut and there will be the option of express (which you already have), then the option of fcp and final cut studio, and with each option you can either buy new or upgrade.

If you are a college student you can get the FCP studio for about $700.

well i got express on college discount for 200cdn...just came in yesterday and im just learning...im gonna redo an imovie project but its confusing on how to delete some effects that i put that i dont want nemore and shit like that and removing the gay imovie titles so i can use livetype instead!

you have to remove the shit in imovie, just strip it all out using imovie. and make sure you read about livetype before just rushing into it it's kinda tricky.
