so i just got some AR5's and i am probably going to center mount them.......i have never actually had any of my skis completely center mounted, ive got some foils that are my everything skis, so these wont be my only skis......would my AR5's ski alot different if they were center mounted??
-i am mostly going to be using them for park/jibbin

if you are using them mostly for park, i would recommend center or maybe a tiny bit back from center. i have my AR5s true center and love it to jib.. sucks on the mnt though.

I tried the AR5 with 5 cm back and 1 cm back (so basically centered), and centered is def. waaaaaay better also on the mountain (because you will want to play on this ski). So I had my own pair of AR5s mounted at 1 cm behind center.
Just in pow its a little bit exhausting for your thighs, but u can ski pow if you have strength & technique.

get em centered if you are skiign more park... better for jibbing and also more stability when landing on a hard pack tranny because if there is more ski behind you, you can stick it easier if you are back seat

I have my ARV's slapped with bindings 1cm behind center. They work fantastic there, even in park. I reccomend it.

your fuckin retarted. i skied centre mounted ar5 the second half of the season and the suck balls at everything except park. like i went in some knee deep pow and my tips like wouldnt come out of the snow cause the tails were so long. to actually ski pow efficiently with centre mounted ar5s its like manualing a whole run without pow. and your shins hurt so much after. samething in trees. didnt turn fast enough. if all you plan on doing is park centre mount but if you wanna do other shit like trees then go like 3 back or something. or recomended.

i rode center-mounted ARV's pretty much all of last year's somewhat epic utah season...so my thoughts on center-mounting are as follows...first of all, obviously it's gonna be awkward in powder, at least at first. i got pretty used to it pretty quick though. riding switch on a center mount is awesome. i think it also makes it easier to handle a longer ski than you're used to...it just doesn't feel as long as it is. so the gist is this: not the ideal choice for pointing it on lines in bella coola, but in general fine for powder and awesome for carving, taking off, and landing switch.

ive got the same thing, 176s i think im going 1 back from center and theyre going to be used almost exclusively for park. My 185 ARV's are 3 up from recommended and they ride really good switch, but theyre pretty long on the front when i take off switch so i tend to catch if im not careful.

center mounting is fine for all mountain, just takes some getting used to

How does that make me retarded?
I ski waist-deep powder fine on the center mounts (my fat skis are better, duh, but thats not the point). Maybe you should just shut up and learn to ski pow. From reading your story about 'tips coming out', you don't seem to have a clue how to ski powder.

why do people mount past truecenter?
id say center mount if you have foils for all around skis

yes me too its awsome to jib but when you try to carve a little bit your tail doest stick on the snow so you need high speed to carve reasonnably and put a lot of presure
