"hands-on" is kinda hard to do online. Just commit with your upper body turn your head, but down look down look so that your head moves like parallel to the plane you wanna be spinnin on, and look down in time to scope the landing. once you can stomp 'em you can start adding safety grabs and stuff and doing the grab will innevitably make it steezier. the more you do it the more you'll get comfortable with it and it'll get easier.
Just pretty much committ the head. If you aren't looking over your shoulder the whole way through the spin, you will stop at 270 for sure. Also, make sure you are still popping off the lip. It will help keep your body set. You shouldn't need to wind up unless you're trying one over like a 10 foot table.
So basically, go in on the jump. Pop and set the spin by looking over your shoulder. Keep looking over the shoulder until you are seeing the landing.
And I've found in my personal experience that doing a simple safety grab keeps the spin together more and keeps me more balanced in the air on all spins.
Are you getting the red ring of death? If thats the case you should send it back to Microsoft and they'll fix it for you. Make sure everything is plugged in correctly. Try a different disc. Try booting without the disc in.
