there's double diamond right by the eagle bahn gondola.
there's one right off the bus called base mountain sports in lionshead.
there's one i don't know the name of it but when you get off the bus in lionshead you walk past the ski and snowboard statue past a couple of t-shirt shops and you go right and you will pass a little french pastry/coffee shop and right next to it is a nice little ski shop.
there's another good one in lionshead, you go past the big clock and there's a nice shop to the right.
and then there are a bunch in vail village, so many in fact that i can't remember any of the names. lol.
but the best selections are base mountain sports and double diamond.
then there's the really expensive gorschuch (sp?) right across from the german restaurant.
and don't forget to eat at the red lion, they have some rad small bands come in and the food is awesome!
just start walking off the bus onto the covered bridge and through town, you're bound to find an awesome shop!
yea...it is.
jibij is an awesome store.
also stop in towns outside of vail, breck, beaver creek, and keystone.
like idaho springs has a nice little shop right off miner street. it's connected to a coffee shop, which has awesome coffee if i might add.
christie sports which is pretty much right across the street/walkway from the red lion. They dont have the best selection of freeski stuff but they are really a good shop and do good work
Hmmm. And you didn't mention Ski Base in Lionshead as a good shop.
It is the only NEW SCHOOL shop in Vail. Every other shop you mention is for tourists. . .
And then you say that the Red Lion is a good bar???! It's packed with tourists, it's a tourist bar. They never host bands, but the owner plays a guitar and sings "bye bye American Pie"
'nuff said.
Go to SKI BASE. Base Mountain and Double Diamond are for tourists.
Or, as someone else said, spend some time in Boulder and check out Jibbij.

I will second Buzz's in vail village. Ski base also is really newschool oriented, nice guys. Ignore Vail Mtn Sports in Lionshead, they make their money selling chapstick and dakine backpacks
