I am 5'8" 145 lbs and I want the salomon gun labs. they only make them in a 188cm but I think the flex is easy enough that I could handle them fine. It would be primarily for backcountry usage. thoughts or suggestions?

one thing to always consider with twins is that as a result of the tip and tail the skis actually ski shorter than the stated lenght.

That ski is definitely soft enough to be skiied on by a smaller guy.. Torsional flex on them is stiff though so youll still hold a good edge..

yea, I have a chance to get last years, skied twice for $450.
they have salomon demo bindings on them that i would probably replace with a 912 or 914 but remounting them once wont hurt too bad. I think I should go for it

not always. some companies measure the actual length of the ski(tip to tail) or the runing legnth of the ski(the length of how much ski that touches the snow). for example my 180 liberties are the same length as my 176 armadas.

Im 5ft, I can't handle anything longer than 150 cuz it messes up with my rotations especially with my rotational speed, it might just be me.

im pretty sure they make those skis in a 178, if you dont feel like riding 188's. then again I could be wrong. If your comfortable with 188's go for it tho, you love the extra length on big pow days.

if they made 185 park skis, and 195 powder skis iD get them. But im 6'1"
Tanner and pep and all those guys are short and ski 180 plus.
Id say step out on a limb throw your inhabitions to the wind and go for it

I'm 5'5" and ski stl 177's and i don't even notice a difference from my 1080s which are 161s so length really isn't that big of a deal

I'm 5'9" 135 pounds. I bought some 185 karmas. I thought they were going to be too big, but I mounted them at the freestyle line and they are awseome. They ski moguls better than my 159 public enemies. I found that wierd. In fact, They do everything better than my public enemies.

insane to compare mogul skiing from 185 to 159.... I would say 185 is a bit long for moguls for you and 159 is definatley crazy short, try like 176 in the moguls and you will rip like never before.
