my skis seem really far back and the guy said he was putting them two inches back (in my mind, two inchs back is alot right?) should i go get them remounted or should i not because it could damage the skis. this is my first mount on the skis besides the pre-drilled ones (chornics).
If ur not happy with where they are set then i would say go remount em...its not worth riding a whole season on em and not being happy with where they were mounted
i ride about 90% park and i allways get my park skis 2 back. i like how they ride better switch and everything. then anyother mounting postion i have ever had.
but thats me....i would just ski with them and see how you like them then worry about it.
if the inserts are in the middle that means you're riding them at recomended, which is 5cms back from true center. Are you sure they are EXACTLY 2 inches back? Because core center on the chronics are about 1.96 inches back... so in essence close to 2 inches. This might seem like they're really back, but it's really the recommended area for Chronic Wides.... I got mine 3cm back from true center, but they're my park skis.
since u ride 50/50 i think they are straight for you. they dont look redicusly far back. just ski them and see how you like them then decied.thats wat i would do.
here you go bubba, as you can see, my skis are pretty much mounted at the same spot yours are. While mine still have minor swing weight, they kill it in the park. So stop fretting, because not only are they mounted at a pretty good spot for all mountain, but they'll perform just as well in the park.
thanks, im probably guna get em remounted considering ill be in the park alot and jibbing all around the mountain which means skiing switch a whole lot(i have a very small tail, i can see that and i have a big tip) also i will be landing switch alot so that doesnt help i presume. spinning will also come easier for me considering im not very good when it comes to that.
dude thats so funny i just bought those exacT skis and i have the excacT same problem i asked for 1cm back and it looks alot more than that. i think im getin mine remunted cuz i like them all the way in the center, but, if i go bck up that one centemeter, it still wouldnt be in the damn center of the ski. i think lines core center might be set bak or somthin, does anyone know if i could go even more up than that? i like TUE center and i cant seem to get it into the shop guys heads. fuck i wish i could just mount them myself.haha im gonna learn.
i heard some people like simon dumont like there mounting to be 2 cm infrontt of center. or somthing like that. is that true? it seeems like it would be way weird to ski on thte front of the boards like that.
haha looks like we both have the same problem, im probably going to go get them re-mounted at like 1 cm back or maybe center. i hate it when this happens, this really frustrates me.
yeah this is the third time for me hha. all of my skis have been remounted cuz of this problem and these will be too. im not gonna argue at all next time.
yea man it sucks i hope it dont affect the performance and by the way, i never filled up my holes what do they fill it up with /? what does it look like ?
I think personally, if you're going be riding a lot of switch you should get them closer to true center, depends where you're going though, if you only hit the park and ski groomed runs I'd say closer to true center, but if you ski in pow time to time, you'd probably want them a little bit back from TC. It really sucks when you have your tips digging into the snow all the time. usually 3-4 cm back from TC works for me, I find that I can turn a lot easier on normal runs outside the park compared to having them true centered (with the exception of skiing switch)
From my experience, I think that true center mounted skis are not a good deal at all outside the park, so try your's before you decide to remount them. 2-3 cm back from TC usually works fine in park as well.
I guess you are not going to be switch skiing 50% of the time.
what holes are you talking about? the ones for the reactor binding don't need to be filled. If you remount, the drilled holes do have to be filled, but your shop tech should automatically do that.
