I am thinking about getting a pair of Speedmachine 8s. I was just wondering if anyone has ridden any of the speedmachines. I know that they are good for going fast, but I was wondering how they are in the park. any help is much appreciated.
Never ridden them, but from what i've heard, they are a pretty stiff boot and would definatly be more at home going fast or freeriding. And as far as park, i have no idea, but i think the superchargers would be more suited for that. I really have no idea if what i said help. haha.
I have the speedmachine 8's. They are a little on the stiff side (i think the index is 100 but that varies between brands). I just got em and its still early season so ive only hit a couple rails with em but they seemed to handle well.
thanks for the feedback. The boots felt stiff & I was just unsure if that would be bad for shin bang from jumps. Have any of you who have them had that problem?
They're a decent boot, and unless you're a little girl, 100 flex really isn't that hard to push around. Not sure on the 8, but i know the 12 has a power booster strap that helps with edge drive and limits shin bang on hard landings. obviously, it's less of a park boot, and more of an all mountain boot for a real skiier. Get em if that's what you want.
I have last year's speedmachine 8's. I had salomon xwave6s and got horrible shin bang. I've now ridden the speedmachines with a booster strap (although Im sure the built in booster would be fine too) and my shins still hurt, but def not as bad.
Also, they seem really flexy for 100, not bbad at al in the park, but still awesome for al mtn. Overall, a great boot. You could do better for a pure park boot, but they helped me with my shins alot, and my shins SUCK
