Scratch FS WRS vs 1080 Foils... I'm sorry

First, I apologize for the 5 millionth "this" vs "that" thread, but I need some good opinions on these skis. I can get a pretty good deal this weekend on a Scratch FS WRS or 1080 Foil package but I'm not sure which would be the better ski to get. I'm 125 lbs and 5' 9" and I want to ski mainly park this season, btw I've been riding on some Head Madtrix. I was looking at the new Salomon z10 ti bindings, they are so incredibly light compared to the Scratch 120s but I haven't herd much about them. Anyone know anything? Help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

rossi bindings maybe a little heavier than salomons, but that is the only advantage. The axials are more durable and release more consistantly. And between the two skis scratches are better in my opinion, more solid all mt and i like the flex better for park. Plus i believe you get an extended warentee if you buy rossi skis with rossi bindings.

i dunno how anybody can say anything bout the Z binding i set up a testing display thinging with a buddy from salomon the new toe is more solid then any other binding on the market right now and the difference between weight is so much more then it used to big its a huge difference the new toe has no wings and is completly auto adjusting so i don't think u'll run into the same old issues yes i would go with the z12 over the 10 just on principle of having the extra spring to use. the WRS with the z12 would be such a sick setup ive seen many liek that already its a great choice.

I've skied them both and the Foil is a MUCH better all mountain ski than the Scratch. They are both good skis, but the Foil is better out of the park.
In the park I would call it a toss up. A personal preference thing. Not knowing what you like in a ski it is hard to say what to get. I own the Foil with Z12s and love it (haven't tried the new bindings but they look better than the old drivers). I am almost all park on that ski, mounted 1 cm foward of the midsole mark.

Alright, thanks guys... I'm going to be getting a 174cm of whichever one but will there be any problem with center mounting either? I herd that the Scratch will be fine but what about the Foil?

no no problem center mounting they just won't ski quite as well outside of the park as if they weren't centered. so quantify how much time your in the park and then decide i'd say go like plus 5-6 cm if u're not in the park all the time. u know.

Yes I did. It was good, but not great. My top 3 all mountain twins are the Karma, Foil and PE. The WRS is probably in that 4 or 5 spot. Like I said, not bad, but not as good as the Foil. In my opinion.

One more thing. Which has a softer flex pattern? They seemed fairly similar at the shop but thought someone might know on here.

The flex is a tough comparison. The foils are softer but in my opinion theyre too soft and chatter a lot. The WRS has a variable flex. Its stiffer under foot and becomes softer around the tips and tails. Thats why the WRS has a better flex for park in my opinion.
And for mounting I mounted my scratches 2cm in front of modern (4 in front of standard) and i was happy. I dont think I lost alot of performance

Alright, I got the WRS with the Salomon Z bindings today but they guy measured the running length of the ski and cut it in half (core center, right?) instead of true center, which it +3 from "core"... I can still call them back and have them change the mounting place because they aren't gonna be ready till thursday but do you think -3 is too far back for mainly park skiing? I was thinking more around 1 1/2 to 2 cm back from true center, is the extra cm or so going to make a big difference? Thanks a lot for putting up with all my noob questions, guys.

core center should be ok. i usually end up mounting true center cause i do more fakie riding then regular in qcbut yea core should be ok unless you ride switch all the time. then you should concider mounting tru center.

If you measure the ski and cut it in half that is true center. Core center in the center is the "core" of the ski, where the mounting plate is.
