by the look of those pictures it looks like it'd be a blessing to have those roads fixed in two months, that's crazy devastation.

Especially because road construction doesn't work so well during the winter in Oregon.

Apparently the Hood River side might be open soon, but the stretch that goes across the White River canyon (coming from Portland) is just covered in a huge mudslide and will take longer. If you look at the road on Google maps you can see exactly where it got blown out, the white river debris field is impossible to miss. the mountain puking out its guts.

at any rate, sounds like it's time to explore snow bowl and t-line this winter!
