So I might be a little biased in my decision because i know David Miller pretty well cause he is a pal of my dads... but I was listening to Q107, and i usually like the station alot except that they all support Jane Pitfield, and bash Miller. now during Jane's interview on the radio a couple of nights ago, is when i really decided that WOW, even if i wasnt closely tied to the miller campaign i wouldnt vote pitfield if you gave me a million bucks.. all she said was that she will oppose everything miller does... now miller is a realistic guy, he says there aren't alot more cops on the street because there just isnt enough money to pay them, he is totally honest about it. he says what the city does have money for, is providing benefits for youth in areas where they are more likely to start committing crimes so they can join clubs and sports teams and stuff like that.. now it might not be a short term solution, but it will eventually work out. and its much cheaper than hiring more police.
Jane also said he hasnt done anything to make the city better... well he did initiate the green bin program which will use our food waste to make good soil for the gardens and parks around the city, so the city will save money because we nop longer need to buy soil, he also made it so that you dont need to sort your recycling which makes people more likely to recycle because there is less hassle, as well as creates jobs for people to sort out the recycling. now i see these as benefits because im a bit of an environmentalist, but how can you possibly say. "my stance is always the opposite of what david miller wants and people agree with my stance" because you have to be so cold hearted and stupid to not want youth in at risk areas to have things to help stop them from starting a life of crime, and to want people to throw thier food in the garbage instead of letting the city compost it for you.
yes i am definately biased in this issue... but honestly, the solution of... "I am going to put more police on the street" doesnt work.. there isnt enough money for it. and if you tax people more all they will do is start making money in more illegal ways and boost the crime rate up even more. at least David is an honest guy and doesnt make up BS that he will do that the city cant afford.
END OF RANT.

I'm voting for whoever puts the fewest gigantic plastic signs up and calls me the least often to remind me to vote. Such a waste.

but do you honestly think a noticable change can occur within 3 years in a city the size of Toronto? because when you look at your "something different" option, she didnt even know what she was voting for on the garbage going to michigan issue. she hasnt once given a solid stance on any issue, and has stated in every interview that she will always oppose what our current mayor is runnin his platform on. which is cleaning up the city both physically and socially, physically obviously with making it easier to recycle, and the green bin program. but socially by putting funding into youth centers in at risk neighbourhoods... which will cost about the same as another 2 police officers yearly salary for every youth center that recieves the funding, and its a one time deal. so the city saves money and slowly (but permanently) fixes the problem of youth gang violence and all those things that have become big issues. Honestly think about it... if you can get kids active and allow them to do stuff, it is proven they are less likely to lead a life of crime... where as adding police officers not only costs much more... but it means that gangs just need to become more violent in order to combat the added law enforcement.
It is obviously up to you who you vote for... but if you say you want a change listen to what "the change" is using a an election platform. because if Jane pitfield wins there wont be another platform for her to oppose and then she will ber shit out of ideas. at least the miller platform knows what it is running on. seriously watch every debate and listen to every interview. My 6 year old cousin could do a better job running for mayor than Pitfield.
