Blowing up chads

is this really happening??? i might be gettin bs of the grapevine but ive hurd that the state of utah will demolish the landing at chads.. does any one know what is really happening

i would doubt it. i mean since its techniqually not really on anyone's property, besides state, if someone gets hurt they cant really sue anyone for getting hurt, its the perosons own fault. thats the only reason i could see them wanting to do it, becasue of legal issues. but then people would just walk up the vally a few hundred yard and hit pyramid, or a few more hundred yards and hit lithuania (or whatever its called).

im sure people relize this, and im not ripping on you, but t-hall just got caught casing the jump on a bad day, i mean ive seen so many people in movies not even make it to the other side of the landing, but there is 3 feet of powder, and they are fine. but t-hall was just hitting it in the spring on pretty hard packed snow, thats the only reason he really broke his ankels.

yeah, exactly. when hall hit it, there was very little snow, and im sure he was well aware of the consequences of comming up short. most of the time, people case and are fine cause theres 4-5 ft of snow to crash into.

and they wont blow it up, thats stupid. not worth the states time and money.

I do believe that chad's is man- made, the remains of mining shit. So I would assume that if you reeeaaallly wanted to, you could find someone to sue

but its not gonna happen, and it's not gonna be blown up.

this rumor stems from tanner's crash. Alta patrol blew up the kicker after, he got hurt.... Some how the rumor turned into blowing up the landing--- wtf

Actually, there is a Lithuania Gap... the inrun starts in Latvia and the landing is in Belarus.

umm...I'm pretty sure if they find it in the interest of public safety...they can do what they want...same way they blow up entrances to caves and shit, so people don't go in them and die...

as far as nature being the way nature is...you should take up some other sport besides skiing...like being a vegan...because umm...I'm pretty sure ski lifts, madmade snow, and runs all screw up nature...

ummm chads gap landing is not "natural" its a fairly good sized tailings pile from the old mining days...so really blowing it up would be like returning the area to a more natural state...if you want to think about it like that.

ive seen thousands of footage of someone slamming straight into the front of the landing and ther ok cuz thers so much pow, tanner hall it on a day where ther wasnt much snow and he hit it right on his ankles

yeah... if anybody hasn't seen some of this stuff... there's a pretty cool feature of it, including Thovex's Trick of the Year, in TGRs "Further". I'm sure it's in tons... but that's one for sure

you got the wrong idea...making ski lifts dont fuck up nature, not as much as just blowing up a hill..manmade snow does not fuck up nature either. Its made of WATER.
Making lifts may cause some digging in the ground where the masts are placed, but it does not fuck it up.
Blowing up a hill does.

No one is gunna blow up Chads. Chads is not played. And Chads is located on Alta land. That area is somewhat patrollede not really tho, and is shot by Alta also. This whole thing went over like a few years ago. Until someone stands on the lip and chads and decides to hit it they should just shut up about saying what is played or not because theres no oway in hell people that have dun it would say that.
