I talked to him briefly. He was stoked about NS. He was really upset about the jump. I can't remember or repeat all the words he used to decribe it. He really wanted to throw the roo, but there was just no way. We talked about the JOI and his comment was this, "it really wasn't that hard to design and build the jump we had, or any good jump, this is unnecessary." Jon's really a chill guy and a leader in skiing, you could tell he was ready to leave and go party. It wasn't so much about the jump being overly dangerous (which it really was compared to JOI or redbull or candide), it was more about it just being whack and holding everyone back.
ya jon is such a badass, that article in freeskier was sick. at least he is actually doing stuff with his life... like buying houses and cars and stuff... what a true european in his sandles and open button-up shirt
Yeah.... Jon is the man, but still, of course the Candide Invitational or JOI will be better. Their jumps aren't build on a scaffolding in a baseball stadium in November in San Fransisco. But I agree, the jump could have been better by the looks of it.
freestyle.ch kicker is built in September in Zurich. It can be done properly.
(and the structure only collapsed once in its 10 year existence ha ha ha)
Look at www.winterjam.se thats also on a scaffolding, in stockholm tomorrow. It looks neat as hell. so it doesnt have to be dangerous. that's just stupid.
