Republican sources in New York report Rumsfeld will be stepping down as Secretary of Defense. No official word, but if you hear more details, have at it.
rummy is such a disgrace. i hope he burns in hell for everything he and this administration has done to america. unfortunately this is too little, too late. we're in a lose-lose situation in iraq, and its a damn shame that our troops were thrown into that shithole in the first place.
I love the way all the dems and liberals are jumping on this shit. I seem to remember the greatest fuck up of a Secretary of Defense being a democrat, Robert McNamara.
theres an amazing documentary on mcnamara that explains his actions, thru his own words too, and shows that he is uber apologetic for what happened and how it escalated
whats the point of bringing that up^? Rumsfeld did a horrible job.
this administration was the biggest group of fuck-ups to ever come into power. Rumsfeld and Bush should be put on trial and hung for countless human injustices.
a lot of you people are clueless, its pretty easy to lump all of this shit one on man huh? id like to c how ud plan on running this country, its the hardest job in the universe. A lot of this shit thats going on are repercussions from the carter and clinton admins. Clinton was a fuckup who did nothing for this country. Like most democrats, he was a smooth talker but said nothing of substance. I like bush and im still behind him. go ahead, call me whatever u want, i just know that half of you out there are trashing him because ur parents do or because everyone else is.
So the Carter and Clinton administration (funny how you skipped the 12 years of Reagan and Bush) are to blame for the Patriot Act, failing war on terror/Iraq, the loss of Habeus Corpus, the torture of prisoners, as well accumulating the greatest debt our country has ever had? Bush and his cronies are raping the constitution. Clinton was 1000000000000000 times better at being president than Bush. Carter's another story, though...
Clinton delivered budget surpluses, something that should please fiscal conservatives. Neither Bush was able to manage that.
Carter can be blamed for some middle eastern problems surrounding Iran and that mess, but don't forget the Reagan Administrations whole Iran-Contra Scandal.
Today's explosive sitations in Iran and Iraq have been brewing for almost a century. No single past administration bears complete responsiblity for creating today's hatred and extremism in the middle east. However, the Bush Administration (Rumsfeld included) does bear responsibility for diving right into that mess with insufficient troops, overly optimistic expectations, and closed minds.
I believe the Bush Administration had noble intentions in invading Iraq, but their bungled delivery left much to be desired.
What does everyone have against Carter? He had some flaws, but I don't think they were nearly as severe as people make them out to be. Compared to pretty much every other recent president he was a saint. He had economic problems because of the oil crisis, but that can hardly be blamed on him.
now i am not going to take any sides here, but you all are being way to fuckin harsh, when you guys dont really have a clue what the hell you are talking about. Saying for Rumsfield to burn in hell is being way to harsh, its just rediculous when most of you on here are teenagers without a lot of life experience, myself included. However, I am not here bashing either side, because I dont know what really goes on behind the scenes with politics, and I am pretty sure most of you don't either.
sorry to be negative, but this is just the way i see it.
you really are a fucking idiot huh? look at the way you spell. it's obvious right there.
now, if by "all of this shit" you mean decieving an entire nation to believe that we had cause to invade iraq, then yes, i believe we can blame it on him. and don't feed me any bullshit like "we had to get saddam out of power" because he was not a threat to us from all accounts recieved. yes, he was a threat to citizens of his own country, and perhaps some bordering countries, but we have no reason to be there.
Explain how clinton was a fuck-up. do you have any reasoning behind this? i think that you are, as you so eloquently put it "trashing him because ur parents do". what actions of any relavance has the bush administration taken with the rest of the world, other than ones that make them all hate us?
and what actions did the carter or clinton administration take that helped put us into our current situation today?
okay, i'm going to address this now, because i'm sure a bunch of you will be stepping on my dick here.
my point here is that the united states is not the sheriff of the world. it's not our place to interfere with every countries affairs. that is a job for the U.N., which most of the countries on earth are a part of. it's not up to one nations leaders whether or not another nation is dangerous to the rest of the world. it's when you ignore things like that, that the interests of individual people start to come into play, and undermine the decision that is best for the country.
Dude its alright if you're a democrat and don't support Bush and Rumsfeld, but please never refer to Carter as any kind of competent leader at all. Even here in my town Bush haters (not the ignorant high school students) admit Carter was a complete fuck up.
I don't understand why every republican hates Jimmy Carter. While you're posting shit about him on the internet, he's building houses HIMSELF for poor people. Like, maybe his presidency was a bit of a disaster, but as far as character and the type of person he is, I think he's the best president we've had in a very long time. Everyone before and since had been a self righteous, ambitious, lying sleazbag. Carter is a righteous dude.
Jonesy, please tell me what i spelled wrong? im not a dumbass dude, i know what im saying. I base my clinton bashing on one point. That hypocrit had osama in his sights. a spec ops force in the mid east HAD HIM IN THEIR SCOPE! They called clinton and he was playing golf, he just couldnt be bothered with it. He told the sniper to wait a few more hours. When the guy called back and said they needed to take the shot right then, clinton told him to back down. We wouldnt be talking about this iraq shit right now if Clinton had the balls to put down his club and make a fuckin decision.
Clinton also got us involved in Kosovo, and, last time i checked, he made a complete ass of himself and laid waste to the credibility of his cabinet when that fat bitch monica lewinsky sucked his balls. He then lied in plain sight about it in the face of overwhelming evidence.
nobody died when bush "lied". Im confused what he lied about? He didn't lie about Iraq, thats for sure. He informed the country that we were going in, something that everybody voted for in the first place. I love how you people were all for the war when it was in its infancy, but now that things have gone awry, you immediately begin thrashing on a man u've never even seen in person. Compared to a lot of other situations, the magnitude of Iraq is less. For example, last year in Cali, more people died due to domestic violence and car accidents than all 3 years of Iraq combined. To put this more into perspective, during WWII on DDay, more than 4000 american soldiers died in the period of 24 hours, not to mention 6000+ casualties in the months following the landings. I know it sucks when people die, and i greive the loss of us soldiers much like any of you here do, but you need to realize that we are at war and in a war, people die. Its hard to swallow, even harder to say, but it needs to be said because i get the feeling that a lot of you went into this thinking that people wouldnt die.
And for the record, i am a staunch supporter of the troops overseas, so dont take my above statement a troop bashing because i have an undying sense of respect for these people. Please, leave the troop bashing to john kerry, that seems to be what he is good at these days.
Well, the quote kind of oversimplifies it. But basically, whether he knew it or not, President Bush said a lot of the things to the American people and to the international community that turned out to be untrue. Is it a lie if you think you're telling the truth at the time? I dunno, how do you define a lie?
Personally I just find it really disappointing that they didn't plan for this war more thoroughly. That being said, it doesn't really do much good to sit and bitch about how badly the administration missed the boat on this war, as much as some of us would like to, it's not productive. We've got the government we've got, might as well try to make the best of it.
I would love to know, on what grounds do you hate him? He absolutely has had the best foreign policy since FDR, and I might argue farther than him. So tell me exactly why he was so bad, if you would.
