Bending PVC

How do you bend pvc?? I want to make a kinked rail out of PVC and i wanted to know if its possible to bend the PVC, or should i just leave it disconnected and not grind on the actual kink?
Anyone ever done this before or have pics???

i would set the part of the pvc that you are coming off of higher than the part of the rail thats kinked. so lets say for a fd(flat-down) rail, you would leave the grinding surface of the pvc for the flat part higher than you would the pvc for the down part. that way you won't catch you edge. does this make sense?

^word. It would probably be easier to build two flat boxes/ rails and then connect them, than worry about bending the pvc. Make the first part like an inch higher or you can exagerate it like the mammoth box. thats what we did and it was ill.

you can bend PVC with a torch or I bet you could even use a heat gun depending on how thick it is. I dunno if itll hold up as well though I havnt tried it...yet

You can heat it up and it will bend fine, but if your looking for an actual kink as apposed to a curve, go detached or cut it. Thats just my opinion on the last part, you could bend it to a kink, if you do though, make sure you attack the top half to the wood before you heat it, the whole pipe is gonna want to warp on you when you add heat.

ud probly need a blow torch and maybe a vice to bend it though.

just cut them and make sure the one before is at least a 1/4 inch higher then the one to follow. i made a little dfd two years ago to mess around on and it worked just fine. i have pictures in my profile if you care to look.

i saw it somewhere but if you put sand in the tube when you bend it it work mucchhhhh better
