dont use the rock salt that has actual rocks in it, made that mistake a long time ago, camps in whistler use solar salt, some green and blue tinted stuff works well (calcium carbonate), but your best bet is mortons good old fashioned table salt for the price.

any salt will work, rock salt is better because the grain is bigger
