Official BEST west coast college for skiing?

ok im finally starting this shit.. kinda late but whatuv just gotta get it done. My SAT scores werent that good... 1545 cause i fucked up on the math really bad but im taking them again and I'll probably get something like 1900

I want a school thats decent for academics, so i can make some bills in the future and of course mad close to good skiing and good town/urbnans/nightlife/weed/otherthings to do , I already checked out the other 100000000000 threads on this but its too overwhelming i need a straightup answer. Somewhere in tahoe, utah, colorodo, cali would be bomb, preferabyly less than 45 minutes away from dope mountains with tons of pow and illlmatic park

The only ones I can think of off my head is Sierra-Nevada, U of U, Boulder, westminstier, ?

we have good weed
pleanty of drinking.
crested butte is about a 25 minute drive away.
there arent a ton of girls, but enough.

within minutes you'll learn how to roll a joint! there are some departments that are good for specific people such as rec, and geology probably, i know the exercise and sports science department is rated pretty high as well, but if you dont party or drink alot, i'd look elsewhere.

come to usc, its better academics then most of the schools in the west, and the east for that matter, its just a bit far to skiing, 5 hours to mammoth and 2 hours to bear mountain but the surfing and skating make up for the distance. plus la is sweet to go to school there.

What you'll find is that highschool doesn't really mean shit. Your act/sat scores, your gpa, none if matters once you go to one semester of college. Get into a community college (cmc) or other low requirement institution (fort lewis) and do well for one semester, then you'll be able to get into pretty much any school you want. College admissions is a lot easier for transfer students than it is for new incoming freshman.

cmc is 2 minutes from steamboat springs, and a hour to an hour and a half from keystone, breck, a-basin, loveland, and vail.

ups in the pnw maybe... better academically than other schools in this thread... but you wont get in there with a 1500... maybe not a 1900 either.

UNR, check out the 'reno rails' section in last years freeskier...super close to tahoe: squaw, northstar, alpine and others. Super good school depending on what you want to major in.

I am a junior at UPS.  I am from Boulder, and almost went to CU, but ended up here cause the  academics are much better and the class size is usually around 20. My largest class ever is around 35, some classes down to 10 or so.

Crystal is 1.5 hours, Alpental 1.5 hours, Stevens 2.5 hours, Baker 3.5 hours, Hood 3.5 hours.

If you are looking for a school close to dope skiing that is better than most of the state schools academically, UPS is a great place.  It is a ton of work. I have so much more work than all my friends at CU and other state schools.  But come job/grad school time, particularly in the PNW where UPS has a very good reputation, it will pay off.

Also - when I took the SAT it was the older version, but I ended up with a 1400, so don't know how that compares now. GPA was around a 3.6.

ok, here is your master plan, you'll thank me later.

Go to Colorado Mountain College for like, a year or so, maybe two....Live in some mountain town, take classes in the afternoon/evening, and just ski everyday.

Next, transfer to CU Boulder, into the B school maybe, finish your major specific stuff, get your degree, and get mad cash.

thought I would add the list of schools I considered skiing wise:

U of Utah
U of Washington
U of Colorado
U of Nevada-Reno
Colorado College
University of Denver
Montana State
Western Washington
Seattle University
Lewis & Clark
Reed
University of British Columbia
and, where I ended up, The University of Puget Sound.

again, these are schools that are at least semi-serious academically.  The idea above about transfer is to a real school after a few years enjoying the snow is not a bad idea though

I got into Utah and Boulder for Spring 07'. I am leaning toward Utah, skiing > drinking > weed for me. 1/2 hour for SLC powder is hard to pass up.

I'm checking out Boulder this weekend and Utah on the 14th. Any advice?

im gonna say that transfering is way easier......as long as u do good in ur first year of college that opens the door to transfer to pretty much wherever you want....i know as im thinking of transfering next semester

sou, Southern Oregon University in Ashland oregon, mt ashland is a sick place to ski (if you know where the stashes are) plus ashland is the coolest town ever, perfect for you people openly smoke weed all over the place, just like every where else in oregon. The mountain is only like 15-20 mins from town.

ya UNR is the best as far as skiing goes. escpecially cuz tahoe is blowing up. but boulder is also tight. boulder has a better reputation but colorado sucks for everything except park. well at least compared to tahoe it sucks
