For handicapped skis you do not modify the binding. You simply put a pin in the heal and it will never release. All mono skis come with one. And further more p18s would be completely unncessary in this case. Its non releasable, you dont benefit from the din or the pivot heal, and you couldnt ride hard enough to worry about durability anyways. Your friend Jesse went through alot of useless work.
And Keegan i would go with the p18. If you don't I would atleast go with that style binding but possibly in a lower din (fks 155). I don't use either of them because i ride primarily park, but if I had a pair of big mountain skis I wouldn't hesitate
