spoken like a true park rat!!
Off the Grid like all Warren Miller flicks had some sick footage in it. I really wasn't a fan of the little segment about Jeremy Bloom playing with the Philidelphia Eagles because quite frankly, I really don't care. There was also the classic Warren Miller sound bites that had to be 10-15 years old but all that took backstage to the segment of India which I thought was really cool and the monoskis with Jamie Pierre.
I wish the segment dedicated to the memory of Doug Coombs (RIP) would have been longer and had done the man some more justice. It was great, the audience in Toronto gave their applause as the segment was beginning but I still think it could have been longer and maybe shown some more recent riding of his along with his old stuff.
It was an awesome flick and always a great way to start off ski season!!
To the moron I quoted, FUCK YOU!!

yeah it was a decent movie, no doubt skiing was great, but it was a little to long for my likeing, also i really dont like how Warren's movies arent narrorated by...Warren, thats just my thought, but it was decent, didnt like the sound track much, higher ground was better, it seemed like every interview with an athlete they made them say "off the grid" even if it didnt fit.
In all i thought the trailer was much better than the actual movie

I just got done watching it. There was a premiere at my college and it was SICK. People were loving it, too bad I was too late to get a free pass to a local resort tho. The US Open footage was amazing.

Is it like last year. Last year the movie was like on big advertisment for Grand Mariner and Nature Valley. The whole vibe is pretty sweet though

off the grid sucked. how long was it like 2 and a half hours? mostly of shit. watch "long story short" or "ski porn" if you want to see a good ski movie

its not supposed to be ski porn, its supposed to be a movie, and yes, a movie for the masses. its supposed to make everyone feel good about winter, not simply get a few people stoked. just because it doesnt have the newest at the sickest spot hucking spins doesnt mean it sucks.

don't forget Jeep commander. these guys only care about making lots of money, which I'm totally cool with, but I choose to watch ski movies where the MOST important reason why the movie is being made is because the producer absolutly loves skiing. Even if money is the most important reason why a guy like Berman is making ski movies, at least he makes it seem like his love for the sport comes first. I just don't get that vibe from Warren Miller.
