Anybody on here go to school here. If you so, how do you like it and do you still ski a lot even though mountains are not extremely close. I visited the other day and thought the school was pretty sweet. Any info would be great.
If you're thinking about engineering, UMO kills it like no other. It's not too close to skiing, but not that far either. It's a little over an hour to Sugarloaf. If you're thinking about teaching or buisiness, UMF is sick, but for basically everything else, UMO rocks. They got some sick party's too
what are you planning to study? because if its not something specific to umaine, i would say check out some other schools, because its a hike to go skiing from orono
even umass is closer to skiing and is still a sick engeneering/business school
Yea I really liked the campus and vib. Also they have a sick hockey team which would be fun to watch. Does anybody know smoeone who went there or is going there. I don't want to make my college decision based solely on skiing but I just want to know if you still can get enough days in.
I have a few friends that go to UMO.....and the parties are amazing......my friend went up for a "visit" last weekend, there was a 7 keg'r at some frat house.....all 7 gone by the end of the night
If you are worried about partying UMF is where its at, any given night you can find the Ski Industries Club (SIC, the same club that the producers of the SIC movies RIGHT and THROBACK were and are still in) kids drinking and having an amazing time, and Sugarloaf and Sunday River are within an hour. If skiing means anything to you after a long night of drinking you should really apply to UMF. Orono is too far away to make consistent day trips. I go to UMF and got 100 plus days last year at Sugarloaf and SR, my friends at Orono barely made 25.
but im thinking about applying to orono for engineering seems pretty chill. only thing holding me back is theres other engineering schools with closer skiing
alright so i got into umaine and its my 2nd choice school... aside from the stuff already int his thread.. can anyone say anything else about the school??
