I'm 190 lbs, bout 6'1, and aggresive skier. I want a ski that'll kick it in pow, and all mountain. Mostly powder though.
I've got two choices:
06/07 Scratch BC
06/07 K2 AK Enemy
I'm hopefully doin tons of powpow, and skiin at baker, for those that care. thought i'd put it in cuz baker gets a massive amount of snow.
Thanks

Personally, I've heard better things about the all mountain variety of the Scratch BC. But Mitchell, you ski pretty agressive in the powder, so if you want a powder ski its the AK.

Scratch is quite a bit stiffer for all over, but if I was choosing between those two for a pow ski, it'd be the 189 AK Enemy.

What size should I get them in, the AK Enemy, I was suggested by the guy at my shop for a 179, but I was wonderin, why should I get the 189?

189 for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!! my park skis are 186, def go bigger for pow! You are a heavy guy you need the length.
Whoever said the bcs r stiff, you are on crack.

Not super stiff, but stiffer than the AK Enemy definitely. And yeah, don't listen to the guy at your shop, get the 189, you are 190lbs, and for pow you want as much surface area as possible to keep your ass afloat, and the longer AK's will be way more stable for stomping landings. I'm only 160lbs, and I would never buy the 179...ever.

heres a pretty good review.
the BC is going to beat out the AK Enemy in the all mountain division. its more made for that then the Enemy. not saying the enemy wouldnt do well, just the BC is a proven fat all mountain/powder ski. get this in the longest length. i cant remember what it is at the moment.
as for the enemy, its soft. get it in the 189 with no hesitations. the 179 is a poo all mountain ski for someone like youself. people say the 189s very versitile, talk to Vicious if you want a review ofsomeone your size and someone whos skied it.

what shop did you go to? because that recommendation is stupid. youre tall. i ride a 188 for pow, and im like 5'8". definitely get the ak enemy in a 189. that would be a yummy pow ski... if baker ever gets snow

I live in Canada, so it's a local shop, like the only one around, so you probably wouldn't know it.

ah that happens. i guess the best thing is dont take their advice. a 179 is shorter than you!! and for powder, you want longer

If you are looking at other skis, The Got is a solid choice for sure, Volkl makes bomber skis, the ANT would also be one to consider, Maybe The new 4FRNT EHP, in either 190 or 193, Scott P4...there are probably some I'm forgetting.

That's crazy
I was 6' last year and I found that a 179 was too short when charging... and i was much lighter than you.
Obviously it's personal preference, but i would not even hesitate recomending a 189 for you, especially with your weight, if you are an agressive skier. I am 6'2 and 160 now and i wouldn't ever buy that skin in a 179

I'll probably get ragged for sayin this, but I kinda wanna do sum bumps with em too, er ski like ur in the bumps but in powder, you know what I mean? like really short, hella fast turns, but also long muther fuckers too. would the 189 be too long, or the 179 bee too short?

Bumps on the AK's are not gonna be much fun, regardless of size, actually, most skis that fat aren't going to be good at bump runs, they'll do it, but you're going to have to muscle them like a mofo...just use a different ski for bumps.

Yeah, it means you're are still growing, so you definitely don't want to get the 179 cause you're already to big for it, and you're only getting bigger.

well right now, ive grown since last year , and i bought, last year, a 174 scratch fs. so i wanna centermount those, and use these suckas for powder.
im just really hesitant cuz i havent tried a fat ski, and im goin for a 174 to a 189, and from not so fat to fat.
BACK ME UP!!!haha

189 Made'n (AK Enemy). Just mount them a little forward if you are worried about them being big. But you shouldn't be, they are pussycats, nice and soft.

I was stongly advised to get teh ak in the 179, cuz when am i gunna need a 189? wehn im heli skiin?, so he said. any ways, can a have a few more decent points, and waht do u guys think, i might buy the 179, cuz if i dont like em, i can return them for the 189, but if i get the 189 i cant return them for a 179.

Seriously man, you are fucking heavy and that is a soft ski, I thought this matter was settled, get the 189, it's still plenty good to ski in bounds cause of the sidecut, you don't need it just for heli lines, I have Prophet 130's, and I sure as fuck don't need them, but they'll be fun as shit in soft snow...seriously, you just need to sack up and get the big boys, that's what I did with the Prophets.
