Ok so i'm in the market for some new boots. I've tried on the SPKs at my local shop and they feel great. Also they fit my foot well. However I'm having doubts as to wether they will perform outside of the park. I ski mostly groomers and park at 7springs PA, and I will probably never see any powder. Will these boots be ok for me?

As long as you aren't going 50mph on a 45 degree slope or more on sheer ice, i think you'll be ok.

What about all mountain shredding...I do alot of powder (not like crazy big mountain heli lines) but fresh snow shredding, and when there's not any new snow groomers/park, how does this boot perform in those situations? I want a Back Country jib boot mostly, but will do some park and regular in-bounds riding.

How does that 'No Forward-Lean' thing work out, good or bad?

i donno what that is.
but i can say i would think they wouldnt be hte best outside of the park. i had rampages last year, and the spks flexibility feels quite similar. i havnet skied my spks yet, but they feel the same. the are very flexy, just like my rampages. i would notice with the rampages that when i was trying to power at high speeds making turns through crud type snow, i had little control. the boot is so soft u have to be really on ur skis and edges hard. and really focused. it like skiing with ur boots unbuckled almost (to an extent). although the amazingness of the soft boot in the park completely makes up for hte little harder skiing outside of the park, in my opinion.

I was fine with my Rampages last season, they didn't really feel to soft for all-around skiing cause they're pretty laterally stiff, I dunno though, I don't usually charge super hard, I like to ski just at a nice fun pace, nothing mind-numbingly fast. What I was referring to to though, is that, from what I understand, the SPK have almost zero foreward lean, they are said to be almost a completely upright stance, and since the best way to control your skis is to pressure the tongue of your boots, and not ride backseat, I didn't know how that would affect your all-around skiing and form.

i donno. they feel just like my rampages with the small wedge in the back. the SPKs have a red piece of foam in the back that u can take out if u really wanted to be upright, but i wouldnt. the padding is nice.

That red padding is actually cushioning that is super sweet.
The other sick thing the EVA high back which reduces chances of injuries.

how is skiing groomers anydifferent than skiing park, unless you are racing?
that is not considered all mountain. these boots will be fine for that no problem. as well you are not standing perfectly straight up and down in them. don't worry its hardly noticable

dunno where ypuo heard that, but these things lean so far forward its rediculously. they are so nice and flexy. you must be thinking of the 90 degree stance cuz they definitely lean forward if you want em to.

Right, but by 90 degree stance, don't you mean that while just standing in them, not attempting to flex forward, they are pretty much upright, they don't apply forward lean unless you flex forward for it?

i just rode my SPKs the first day out at copper yesterday, and they were awesome. felt great, all day hiking the park, any time i was taking laps i still felt like i had great control for carves and turns and that shit....
i may never buy another ski boot again.
