fischer addicts 181, you most likely will not be able to get them though. im pretty sure i got the last pair coming to the states after a week of phone calls.
Dude, if you really want the fischer addicts, getboards.com has them... give them a call.. not only that... but the local ski shop called Alpine Ski Shop in Big Bear Lake has them in all sizes... if you have any questions PM me.
As for lines sucking... they don't the chronics would be a nice ski for you and you can get last years for cheap around the $200-$300 range.
If you want a soft ski, definitely get the Fujatives in 179. They're cheap and have a good rep for being durable.

Im almost positive fischer is out of NH and my local ski shop had about six pairs of the addicts for about 330 bucks so im pretty sure he could get them I am gonna get them this year they look so dope
no he's saying that fischer, a ski making company wants to keep their prices as high as possible and sell as many skis as possible and so, in order to not flood the market and cause the price of their skis to drop dramatically, they are not making a massive amount and are creating what is called supply and demand
You took econ 101 but you never took a business course:
Fischer sells its skis to distributors for a set price. The distributor sells it to the public for whatever price it wants and keeps the profit. This means, if there are fewer skis and people are willing to pay more, the distributor makes more and Fischer does not benefit at all. Fischer makes more money by makig as many skis as it can and selling them all to distributors. If it happens to flood the market, as you say, all that does is push out COMPETITORS's skis, not it's own. Also, the addict is a low priced ski, this means it will undercut other comparable skis. Their market strategy is not to sell a few skis for a high price, it is to sell a lot of skis at a slightly lower price.
thank you, im not just making shit up. i think i would know if i spent more than a week of phone calls and emails just to get one pair lined up, and even that was barely garunteed.
the point was, those stores may be out right now because of the early season rush, but they will be getting more shipments in all season long. Patience is a virtue.
It says here in the Freeskier buyer's guide the K2 Silencers are a good ski for under $400. But dude whats the point of even setting a price? i mean get a reliable and quality ski.
i agree with your points and i didnt even take econ 101. but a lot of companies really slow up on production of skis when the winter actually hits and they start focusing on next years technology which is why you see new models out right as most seasons are ending.
basically if you can find a pair of the skis your looking for for a reasonable price go for it becuase you might not find what your looking for again if a company decides that it doesnt need to make more of this years models. (which is why late seaosn and last years models are such sweet deals)
