Anybody know about MIP's being on my record? I am over 18, will it stay on my record, or drop off after a certain time because it is just a violation? Anything else you about MIP's would help. Thanks
It stays on, you can go to court for it and try to get it dropped, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If it does drop off then don't get caught again, cause you're fucked.
Thanks, I have court tomarrow morning, hopefully it works out. I passed on some sidewalk and woke up to cops picking me up out of my puke, paramedics were there and shit too with a fire truck, apparently someone called 911 while i was passed out, bunch of people were around watching trying to figure out what was going on, it was crazy, pretty shitty though.
when i was 17, i got an MIP, but was deferred to a program called diversion, where i had to pay a fine and see a counselor who asked me a bunch of questions (like if i have ever injected methadone and how many times), after that all i had to do was stay out of trouble until i turned 18 and it was expunged from my record. even though i was a minor in my situation, i'm about 98% positive that this will NOT remain on your record as long as you follow specified guidelines and stay out of trouble for a certain amount of time. cheers
i have 4 mips under my belt.(not proud to say it) but I have them. And they do stay on your record. I received my first one at the age of 17 and my last one at 20. I thought at least some of them would be dropped off but they didn't. I got pulled over for rolling through a stop sign last month and the cop noticed them on my record and almost gave me a breath test to see if I had been drinking. I am 24 now and havent been in trouble since that last mip. They are not fun to have. they are expensive and cost a lot of time on your part. I was also luck in the fact that I came about as close as you can come to serving time but i didn't because the prosecuter didn't plee it. the judge was pissed because she wanted to put me away for the max 93 days.any other q's just message me.
