Rampage

So i'm trying to get my new rampages ready for the season and was wondering some things.
a) the 8-15 flex means that it can be customized from 80 flex to 150 flex right?
b) the inserts that go behind the heel in the outside of the shell of the boot, the 8 mm wedge makes the boot the stiffest right?
c) the bigger the angle of the forward lean makes the boot more stiff right?
d) any other suggestions for customizing this boot?

a) no, diff companies have different scales. they arent related
b) the forward lean wedges dont make them stiffer, they just make them have more forward lean.... for park i would suggest the 4 or none, so u can jump and straighten your legs to get pop. i rode the 4.

d)i would say custom foot bed if you havent already. i loved the softness of the boot, so i rode with no insters in the back (inside the shell on the back of ur leg). but you can try different ones to get a stiffer or softer flex. then just ski till/if you get pressure point, nad have a shop punch out for u.

put it the stiffer tongues, there is an insert the goes in the shell like by your calf that stops the boot from flexing that would make a big dif. too

The forward lean is just the forward lean. Those shims that create forward lean don't adjust the stiffness.

To make the boot stiffer you have to use the thin curved inserts that fit into slotted tabs on the inside of the back of the boot. They ultimately go into place in the split heel section of the main boot shell.

There are two sets. One marked 4 and one marked 8. There are also two positions that they snap into. High and Low.

From softest to stiffest:

- no inserts
- 8 in the Low
- 4 in the Low
- 8 in the High
- 4 in the High

I'll be skiing more steep and deep this year than park so should I leave in the 4mm wedges or should i put in the 8mm wedges? I'll be putting in the 8mm clip in the highest position for the stiffest possible with the most reaction time. Thanx.

just try the 8m wedge. ull see what its like. i felt like i couldnt straighten my leg at all, and took it out after 1 run. just try it on the mtn. youll know

4 in the top position. thats the stiffest. I have mine there, and besides the toe-bang... they are the sweetest boots ever. Thanks to Larry, the toe bang will be fixed soon.
