Epic Blizzard, Big Dilemma, Retarded Question

So, it's finally snowing. A lot. A frigging blizzard.
I want to go out and ski with my old K2 Poachers, my "rail" skis as it were.
The snow is sticking to the bases, and im not sliding.
I know it needs to be waxed. Like, properly.
I have no board wax.
Can you use any kind of wax? Candle wax? If so, how does one go about doing that? just spread it all over? Im desperate here.
Am i just screwed over until i can get to the "hill" with my real skis?
It's 9pm, no way to go get wax, all roads closed.
Need quick way to wax skis without destroying them. Help please!

you have no rubb on wax or spray on crap like that swix stuff, if you do attempt to use candle wax, i dont suggest it, but not you have to melt the wax on first with an iron, then iron the skis, then scrape them tip to tail, then brush them, i wouldnt suggest it w/ candle wax

usually after skiing for a few runs the dirt comes out, but if you're just skiin in your backyard and dont wanna lap your yard 400 times for the same effect you could rub the base with snow in your hand. might be a little late...

i figure they allow higher post counts if you're retarded enough to put cooking oil on your skis and tramp around like you've blown a fuse...

run to the grocery store and grab some paraffin wax. Dirt cheap for tons of it. its pretty much ski wax, without the additives.

Sweet. I don't have a spare iron to use it though, does it work just rubbing it on/melting it on?
