hey since your from salt lake I was wondering what your opinion on mormons is. maybee you are mormons I dunno. Not trying to start an argument I'm just curious to know how you feel about them

people are people they're the same everwhere you have your wierd ones and some people you can't even tell that they have anything to do with LDS, its just the extreamists that give a bad name, that's just in my experience for other people its may be different

Must have been a typo. Without war-mongering, fear-inducing, jesus-freak republicans, we still wouldn't be fine... but we'd be a hell of a lot better.

Without organized religion, we'd all get along just fine.

Steven Weinberg said it best:

Religious indoctrination happens in nearly every single religion we see today. Jihadists, FLDS mormons, militant christian wings, Opus Dei (it does exist)..etc. They are the only parts of the religious community that you here about. Its like the war in Iraq. The media, both conservative and liberal, have made the term Islamic synonomous with 'terrorist' which seriously pisses me because I've still got friends over there, and the muslims are really nice people, always happy to see american guests. Don't try to judge before you get here. Come with an open attitude and you'll find out that generally mormons are very relaxed people. Except for Blake. He does crack and kills people.

The envisionment of hell was origianally a construct of the Islamic religion, used as a form of religious indoctrination to keep people in line. Niether the bible nor the old testament describes Hell as the fiery/icy inferno that is so fervently used in most mainstream religions today. In the bible and old testament, it is simply referred to as Hell and a place of horrific torture below the earth.

you go to the spirit world and await judgment. While your'e there you still have a chance though. If you end up doing the right thing you go to the celestial kingdom and if not either the telestial or terestial. Unless you where realyl bad then you're cast out to outer darkness

I do have a mormon teacher who likes to say m'kay a lota and made me pay a dollar for saying damn twice, despite its use in the bible

I have to say I agree with that. I don't have strong beliefs with any religion. I believe that what the world needs is love. I'm mormon because that's how I was raised
