An Idea That Could End the Newb Issue

Okay, heres my idea that could end the newb problem. When a new user creates an account, they will only have posting acess to a new forum called the Newb Forum. the newbs will have the ability to see all other public forums but they will not be able to post there, so after either 100 posts in the Newb Forum or 10hrs activly online, they will be promoted to a normal user. This idea should fix the problem of newbs creating dumb threads or posting in threads that have been inactive for years.

It's a good idea other than the fact that the newbs will spam the living shit out of the newb forum just so they can be a normal member.

Nobody will want to join the site then.  Just put yourself in that situation and think of it and you'll realize that we would get approximately one pissed off new member each day if your idea went through.

What if a guest wants to just get a quick answer but when he signs up he is restricted to some dumb forum or cant post for 10hr's? That would be frustrating enough to leave.



The idea has been pitched before and it doesnt work.

hahahahaha you my friend are a newb, a new person to the site, but dont worry you will learn, the issue is that sometimes newbs dont know what to post, and bring up old stuff, and say dumb stuff. but everyone was once a newb. the number of posts you have effects the little name under your number of posts, but that isnt the only thing that can make you a newb. i was a member for a really long time, but i just looked at vids. people are gunna be dicks to you for a while, but dont worry, its like bein a freshman, and u grow out of it.
