STEPS
1)you go up to the top click the search bar
2)then type in backflip
3)you have to commit to the results
4)click one of the many threads like this
5)Get your read on then walk away

chill with the bold there buddy, you could burst a blood vessel.

The three crucial steps to learn a backflip:

1] build a nice kicker into some fluffy powpow- big enough to allow you to get around: not so big that you're gonna panic. don't try it first time in the park.

2] commit. like any spin/flip, you have to really go for it. any doubt or hesitation and you'll eat shit- believe you can do it.

3] tuck. you'll keep in control and keep the flip straight.

I would add to arch your neck to spot the landing, but to be honest the first time will be about timing- the adrenaline will make shit go blurred and you prolly won't be able to spot it...

remember- believe in yourself: when you stomp it you'll feel like the shit, claim it, go crazy, whatever. good luck!

ya, fair point, i guess you might not have the luxury of fluffy pow all the time in the east! maybe the next best thing is a water ramp to get the feel of it then take it to snow. i really wouldn't advise someone to go for it in the park first time though, at least get it down on a tramp first.

chances are you wont commit the first time, no offense but its just human nature. You will probably spazz out midway through the air. You'll be upside down and probably start "flipping out" and land on your side. But the next time will be easier and so forth. So make sure u find some pow.

do exactly this. know that if you have enough powder you can basically do anything and the worst that'll come out might be a bruise or two.

it's funny tho cuz my friend first tried a backflip off the biggest jump in the park and he was on 191 GS race skis and he completely stoped the shit out of it. was pretty sick

whatever you do, make sure you keep looking, not to freak you out, BUT, I have seen some kids get owned because they looked only half way and took it to the dome.

at snowtrails in ohio we have a halfpipe that they never blow snow into or nething but when we get enough snow we make a kicker out of it and thats where i learned my first backflip

Find some water ramps. Do like 80 there. Then do it on a table during the winter.

That's what I did. I did one my first day skiing this season and stomped it. It was awesome.

So, go to water ramps.

ok so i learnt it first on tramps. The key is to put ur hips into it. If you look at Liam in LSS, he has the smoothest gainers and he always put his hips into it (shit that sounds so gay)...good luck and dont remember you HAVE to commi or ur fucked
