Well I got my 05/06 Rossi's. You sure as hell can't beat these skis for $175.
The construction looks pretty damn good. They're not that dissimilar to my 05/06 Karmas actually. The Scratch's feel less damp. I suspect they'll have a lot of pop.
Just hand flexing they feel about the same, though the Karmas have a full season on them so they're expectedly not as spry as they would be brand new. The tail and shovel of the Scratch's feel a tad softer, and the Karmas have a more consistent firm flex... which is in part why they're such a bitch to press.
I don't have the Scratch's mounted up yet so it's hard to say how they are weight wise. I'm most curious about the swing weight, which is really my only complaint about the Karmas. Just putting my Karams with Rossi Axial 110 bindings on a scale compared to the Rossi Scratch FS's with the Look PX12's I intend to mount on there the Scratch setup was just over half a pound lighter. Probably not going to really notice.
One thing I will say about the Rossi's... the bases are really stout looking. The Karmas have a reasonably solid base that holds up, but it looks like it'd take a pretty fierce beating to gouge the base of the Scratch's. Reminds me of the sintered graphite base I had on an old Salomon snowboard which saw a lot of rocks and not a single core shot.
Just by looking at the construction and the in-hand feel I'm expecting the Scratch FS to be almost as good an all-mountian twin as my Karmas, probably only giving up the same in all-mountain performance that the Karmas do in park performance.
Looking forward to getting out on them... SNOW PLEASE!!!!!
