so my targets for this season are to get my 3's more solid and grabbed and get some 5's down. But how much more difficult are 7's? perhaps easier than 5's? as its only another half turn and your not coming out switch
tramoline to snow is a bit different, the whole moving forward thing makes it so you have to throw the tricks just a bit different than you would on a tramp. I still like tramps tho cuz they help with the comfort level, and learning the basics of flipping in the air.
7s are definitely a lot harder than 5s. 5s you dont have to commit to anything more than one spin, but 7 you have to totally commit to that extra rotation. and landing switch is easier cause you can spot your landing early
true, i think the main difference between 5's and 7'S is that you need to commit more and throw your spin harder and really try to finish your spin, cause if you land in a 610 degree or somethin, well.. .not fun.
and , for the first time you will try your 7's , my advice would be to try it on a medium jump ( 35ft +) cause underthat you will need to spin faster than TJ.
I have trouble with 7s i can do switch 7s better then regular for some reason. Its not that hard to actully do them, just spin hard, but its hard to make them clean and not hucked.
whoa whoa, this is some bad advice in this thread. i doubt some of these kids can do 7's.
a 7 is NOT like a 5 with an extra 180. this is a bad way to think about it, and will usually get you a 630 to death. get on a trampoline and practice just doing 7's and spotting your landing once at 3 and then again at 7. on snow get comfortable throwing 3's and 5's over about a 40 footer, then just go for it, but commit to doing a full 720, not a 540 and just trying to bring the last 180 around with your hips. make sure to spot that landing at 3, then when you come around at about 630 or so, pick it up again and put your feet on it.
trampolines give you the air awareness though and make you comfortable with the rotation...just wrap your arms throw your head if you want to just try it on snow, the jump doesnt even have to be that big so you wont really be getting hurt
i have serious issues with spinning a regular 720. i can do cork and rodeo fives, sevens, and nines, but i absolutely cannot do a standard 720. i don't why, but they are the single most difficult trick known to man. something about coming around and the landing being right in my grill makes me crash all the time. i don't know, they're weird.
instead of asking how hard they are, go out and try them... people can tell you how easy/hard they are but u will never really know unless you try them... soooo go try them.
i dont think tramps really help much for learning spins i can do better tricks on skis then on a tramp the hardest part about a seven is not stopping yourself becasue that is your natural reaction you just have to let yourself keep spining
I think it's hard to do a regular 7 because when your going into a jump switch your body is twisted and ready to spin forward really fast, but when regular your facing straight and your body isn't as twisted. Maybe this is why tj's 14 was switch.
